Hi,
I am looking to learn more about the NPI program manager role at Apple. Specifically want to understand the following:
1. What's exactly the day to day beyond the fluff job post?
2. What skills will be considered critical to be successful in the role?
3. How is success defined in the role?
4. What does the career progression look like?
5. What background is considered desirable for this role? Can one get into this role without prior background in NPI?
Thanks in advance!

I never understand post like this. Believe it or not but there’s some people in the world that’s truly happy at their company and love their job and doesn’t have an ulterior motive
From a Salesforce perspective, apart from the genuine perks that are actually quite good, the other reason could be the referral bonus if someone from their network reaches out wanting a job.
A lot (not all) of those posts typically end with “we are hiring - reach out if you are interested in your next dream job!”
Ah I didn’t think of that angle - paint it as a great place to work to facilitate referrals ops. That’s a great point.
I've gone from working somewhere that gave me 1 week of paid maternity leave and did some shady stuff with an accommodation request (resulting in me consulting an attorney in case it got worse) to somewhere that gives 20 weeks of fully paid maternity leave and actually encourages everyone to take it. To me, there are two incentives to post about that: 1) I feel very strongly in favor of this company because of their stance and believe in publicly celebrating it & 2) I hope that, if I ever take that maternity leave and post about it, such a post would make the leadership team at my former employer ashamed and reconsider their policies.
It’s propaganda kool-aid. Doing what got to do to look good.
No you're definitely not wrong, I have seen so so many that look literally copy pasted, since its September the amount of very specifically cookie cutted "my company is so good to give me time off for my kids first day or 5th grade" posts are unreal
Indirect form of ass-kissing
Idk… some of us actually like our jobs. 🤷🏾♀️
And that’s you. Others want to talk about it on LinkedIn, so that’s them. Mute them and move on. That is what I do, when I do not care to see certain things but coming on an anonymous forum to rant about it, makes you look….. 🙃
Hello, I have been working for this company for a decade or more. For the 5 first years, I would not have recommended to work in my company because of work life balance, culture, mindset, even if people you are working with were very talented people and you were learning a lot. Most of My colleagues were getting divorced or other stuff like this. The culture has changed, people, mindset and many other things in a very good way. I don’t know well other tech companies. I would recommend today this company to many people for Many different reasons.
Then it really depends.
My 2 cts,
No incentives for those posts. People just like looking good and like the “likes” and comments.
It’s fake. I’ve seen people post stuff about my current company and I just want to laugh.
It’s for likes and attention
Whenever I see execs from my previous company (it’s only the execs) posting stuff like that, I always want to respond with „Great to hear people are not crying at their desks anymore!”
Corporate virtue signaling
A disproportionate level of success in tech is determined based on the amount of kool-aid drank and politics played. Also, LinkedIn is so saturated with the same content that wasn’t getting enough social media attention, IMO
