Would you recommend an MBA or MS in Statistics for someone who wants to be a Data Science manager in industry long-term? I’ve been working in consulting in roles heavy in data engineering, enterprise architecture, and data storytelling for the past year, if that’s relevant. I also have an undergraduate degree in applied analytics from a target school.
Is it easier to recruit for offices that are not NY/SF during MBA? Looking to leave NYC (overrated) and settle in a smaller city like dc/seattle/philly. No strong ties to any (just enjoyed their vibes times I’ve visited) so don’t want recruiters to think I’m gaming the system.
Big milestone for me as I finally crossed $100K income today! It took 10 years + 4 more post-MBA, but I feel like I’m safely middle-class now. Maybe homeownership will be in reach in 5-10 years if prices stabilize 😅
Any chance of getting into M7 MBA directly from mid-tier FDD? I did 2 years in big 4 audit (including promotion) before making the transfer. End goal is IB.
Want to switch to another company with better work life balance. Currently working with EY India, joined in Mid 2020 after MBA. Want backend roles with decent work life and weeknds off.
If you could hypothetically just pivot from consulting to industry and get a pay increase, what’s the large appeal behind going and getting an MBA and is that appeal getting lower as time goes on (meaning the ROI is lower)?
What is easier(in terms of recruiting)? To switch from MC to IB or the other way around? For an entry level like BA/consultant or Associate (post-MBA)
If you get your CSM cert, do you add to your title on linkedin/elsewhere? I don’t want to be that person but I see many other people add it
Besides S2S, are there any other veteran or military networks associations / programs that I should connect with for MBA prep / networking? Thanks fam
I know many of you are upset about yesterday's inauguration, but can we please take a moment of remembrance for the ending of girl meets world. Great show that taught important values and lessons. RIP

Tips on What to ask a current MBA student? Have 1st call set up this afternoon and I’m kind of stumped besides “how was your experience“...lol🤔

Anyone transitioned into corporate strategy / BizOps roles without an MBA? If so, what is your background?
I’m a Junior accountant, recent MBA grad in Finance, located in NYC, just got laid off due to a merger. Anybody hiring or know any opening positions?
Hardest lesson of the week: the more you move up and your peers and those that roll up to you start seeing you as a leader, the less friendly and close you can get to them bc liability. 😩

What’s your ad industry exit plan? Look around most agencies. Very few retire from this industry.
Is anyone familiar if Westlaw PracticalLaw or Lexis Practice Advisor offers discounts to lawyers for infrequent, personal use? By that I mean, it would be nice if the next time one of my uncle's asks me to draft up a will, I could grab a template from a reputable service like those without having to pay such a hefty premium. I don't need it for work, so I can't get it expensed
I made a huge mistake by coming to the US, spending a lot of money on education and then paying that off..and finally getting to a point where I am stuck with visa issues. Anyone in the same boat?
All, looking for a comp. check at Slalom since their titles don't follow the standard paradigm. I'm a 2nd year senior manager with account management responsibilities and 10+ years of experience. Does anyone know what the range of starting salaries is for Slalom? For reference, West Monroe Partners would be 180-190k. It seems like Slalom would be in that ballpark. Any thoughts?
I do transformation strategy, and my research tells me that this role is not a feeder to top business schools like investment banking, PE, or consulting is....should i consider a switch to consulting to boost my resume?
I wish I could be as unbothered as Jack Dorsey. Calls into Senate inquiry on his phone with that beard
Tires question: considering Pirelli tires for my 2017 Nissan Maxima. The P Zero all season plus specifically. Any other recommendations? Doesn't snow where I live, fwiw.
Where are people looking for salary information? We pay market. I know what other firms pay for the level we want to hire. People are asking for 40-50% over the top of the pay band. I legitimately want to know where these numbers are coming from. None of our compensation studies are even close.
Just asked a recruiter if their org was having "salary adjustments" because of "revenue considerations" 🤦 Did I just ding myself? Is the rule that you never ask the recruiter about negatives?
I’m a seasoned Labor and employment litigator (70% Plaintiff, 30% Defense) with an upcoming interview for in-house VP position for large public company. Any advice, tips, or pointers?
