Absolutely. Every time and will usually copy the partners if they did a standout job. I like to have a quick debrief after every closing to pass along feedback on what they did well and set goals for the next deal on what to focus on/improve.
I wouldn’t assume that. I’ve worked with a lot of partners and seniors over the last few years that never once sent a thank you email.

Fwiw I think it's person dependent. You can solicit it and say "it was great working with you and I'll be sure to handle x and y post closing matter"
Does your senior associate say it to everyone else?
I say thank you to the entire team after a signing/closing, even if I only wanted to thank some of them because others dropped the ball or were next to useless. There’s no need to be unnecessarily exclusionary/make people feel bad. Same reason why I invite the entire team to the closing dinner even if I think not all of them deserve to go.

Yes, but I wouldn’t read into it (in terms of your performance) if someone does or doesn’t. I’m saying thank you whether you did a wonderful or terrible job and I try and give some actual feedback too. Others just think they’re too busy and never remember to thank anyone.
