Depends what you mean by assistant - managing team assignments, deadlines, and project Financials? QA-ing deliverables?
That all feels like assistant stuff to me but it's what you have to do to make manager.
I enjoy making & doing too much - I think SC to M is the biggest mindset change.

I'd love to do some of things you mentioned, what I meant is no autonomy in the work, am expected to just follow which I am open to if its developing my skills and I can contribute meaningfully however thats not the case.

When I provide ideas its just ignored, literally ignored and the conversations end up just one way, they ask and I answer which I hate. I have heard people here say have a voice, but what do you do when your voice has no value or falling on deaf ears
I disagree that it’s the culture. May be how some people act and respond for sure but there are great managers here who give you opportunity
