Senior finishing up my fourth busy season. Accepted a job as a senior internal auditor. Now I am second guessing my decision and wonder if I should stick it out for manager promotion (next summer) and then have better exit opportunities. Any advice? Would you jump ship or stick it out? Has anyone put in their notice and changed their mind?

So...you can message me. I have similar experience. Was in PA for 2 years and then went into audit. Lots of pros but also a few cons...

There are lots of companies where you can use your start in internal audit to find out more about the business and use it as a stepping stone into another part of the business. I don't think audit hours get any better as a manager but only you can decide what's best for you.

Why do you want to leave PM? Is it public accounting in general or issues that can potentially be resolved? It may be worth discussing with your team partner and they can help you at least think through your opportunities. I’m willing to discuss as well.

So, I've realised there's a problem with developers, a lot of them are coders, not engineers. And another issue, is that, companies don't really care about their progression as far as I'm aware, so what did you guys do in your own time to transition from being a coder to an engineer?

When I expressed how I felt she keeps saying there's nothing going on. I feel that when start to get emotionally close to some other guy than SO then it's not a good sign in relationship. Am I overthinking? contd.
