Experienced seniors will lead portions of DD calls, but mostly we’re just taking notes to circulate after the call

My perspective: if you’re not speaking you don’t belong in the meeting. Find a role.

smart

I'm an S3(super at RSM). Last year I would cover really basic stuff. This year I've gotten more into the details, but honestly I think it takes a long time to develop the skillset necessary to fully articulate complex topics to a client in a meeting. I understand every topic discussed, but it's hard to make those same noises come out of my mouth hole with the same confidence.

I've run significant portions of a few meetings, but these were to smaller and less complex clients.

Ok, using excel is not a primary function for my role (this will be very obvious shortly...) So please be kind! On my sheet, in the first and third columns, I have lists of reference numbers. In the second column I have a client name. I already identified the duplicates in the first and third columns using conditional formatting. What I need to find now is column 2 value, whenever value in column 3 is identified as duplicate. Problem is, I have over 120k rows of data so I can't filter! Help!

Hey everyone! I am a CPA, started at PwC, now the assistant controller at a small/medium sized Ag company. Thus far, the plan has been to follow the CFO path. But recently I have been longing for more social/client facing interactions. I am very extroverted. I love meeting and connecting with new people and would like to incorporate that into my career. Any thoughts on possible career paths that would combine my experience in accounting with a more socially fulfilling job?

Thanks I’m advance!

Judge-shopping is frowned upon in most jurisdictions, if not actually prohibited in the local Bar rules or in legislation. So, how do you handle providing your client with necessary advice when you walk into court and see that Judge Hardass is presiding? A colleague of mine is currently facing a Bar discipline panel over warning off his client. What should you do in that situation?

How do you deal with feeling guilty for leaving your current job in the middle of a project?

Thanks

Does anyone have links to a good presentation/data set to prove the benefit of normalising the inclusion of disability? Want to convince them with data. TIA!!!

I have a face to face interview tomorrow and was wondering what the thoughts were wearing a nice knitted sweater instead of a blazer for an interview. My blazers don’t quite fit anymore and it’s not in my budget to buy a new blazer. I have one in mind that’s a turtleneck and can be styled with dress pants nicely. Either that or a cardigan….

Hello! Is anyone working at Spotify or HubSpot within product/project management that would be willing to connect for a virtual coffee chat?

I’m a recent grad and currently working in tech/product development. I have been interested in growing my career at either of these companies and would be grateful to gain insight on day-to-day and steps you took to successfully break in.

I know this might be a big ask here, but it’s been difficult trying to land one on LinkedIn. Thanks in advance

am currently working as a project structural engineer in London and feel like structural engineering is a dead end job. I have spoken with engineers with 10years+ of experience and their salary is just over 50k.

Do any of you guys in the construction industry or any other engineering industry have any advice? I'm considering either switching to machine learning engineering or becoming a project manager. My degree feels so useless.

I don’t know whether I want to pursue Auditing or Tax. I’ve done 3 summer internships with Deloitte and am currently in a tax internship with a local boutique firm. I realized I hate doing individual returns and much rather work with financial statements. I’m not sure if this means Auditing would be a better fit for me because I enjoy analyzing and working within financials. I would honestly just pick the more financially rewarding career with better post-big 4 options. Any thoughts?
