Easy answer; just work in Dublin for a year and transfer to London; maybe the move to a quieter place will help you focus on work anyway and perform; you’ll need to prove yourself regardless in Year 1, so you can justify the Business Case for transferring back to London anyway. When you’re back in London with your FAANG job in 2 years you’ll be smiling :)
A year or two is NOT a long time. To put it in perspective, the average life expectancy in the UK is 81 years. Two years is 2.5% of your life. That is the same percentage of 36 minutes of a day.
Think about the long term prospects of the career move. It sounds like moving to Dublin for a few years will allow you to have a better role in the next 5-10 years. I had some friends who did a similar move but from London to Amsterdam. They’ve ended up loving Amsterdam more than London and staying there long term. Appreciate Amsterdam and Dublin are different but similar thing could happen. I also think Dublin is underrated. From what I’ve heard, people are much nicer than London and you’ll be able to explore the Irish country side
