Serious question: does Accenture or Deloitte have a brighter future? Why? Please keep it to these two, thanks!

If you believe we are just at the beginning of digital change and companies needing to change how they work- lots of process and tech change- Accenture is well positioned for at least 10 years- subject to an Ok economy

Both have a bright future and growing. Your experience may be more fun at Deloitte, we invest a lot in people and work is more diverse.

I've heard fun and the big D in the same sentence before...but it was the other kind of big D. I guess there's a first time for everything.

All just lost souls wandering in the void really. Consulting ftw.

Accenture. First, Deloitte has a more toxic culture, especially as you get to the SM level going for partner. The Partners will never take more than a minimal hit for employees (see the layoffs last year and minimal bonus). Second, Deloitte hasn’t been able to evolve its business model in areas like automation to keep cost of delivery down and compete with other firms… It’s still too heavily reliant on people, often generalists, and offshoring work only goes to far. Clients won’t pay a premium for Deloitte on services they see as commoditized and it’s becoming a race to the bottom.

Came to comment that D sounds like PwC. When I was trying to leave consulting, Accenture was probably the only consulting firm I was willing to join based on what I heard about their wlb and culture. My gf worked with both on the client side and hates PwC and praises Accenture all the time. Their team seem nice when I talked to them

Accenture. Deloitte is going to eat into their margins to remain relevant and competitive. Adventure is a known commodity that many go with simply based on cost and decent quality.

I’ve worked at both and Accenture was the most backstabbing and toxic, by far! Public company shareholder profits vs private company culture that invests in its people. I found the people to be far nicer, genuine and quite frankly, smarter, at D

ATCI experiences don't count. One should compare S&C to D.

It’s Accenture. Because Deloitte’s accounting practice is so damn costly, in both the manpower and the nature of its work. Public accounting, audit readiness and the like are slow deliberative activities. Luckily Accenture relieved itself of such duties awhile back lol

Out of curiosity, why is this post hashtag moist?

Pretty much what SM1 said tbh. I’ve worked at Deloitte as well and I like them but man do they love themselves some Deloitte there.

Deloitte

like

Are you a consultant or an accountant?

Remember 2/3 of Deloitte business is tax and audit and it’s consulting is primarily system integration.

Accenture competes with them in that space to be certain, but does lots of consulting that Deloitte does not

like

OP, what’s the size of the Deloitte offer? May be you should list the Pro/Cons of ACN, we can get someone from D to list theirs.

Company wise or career prospects wise? Company wise I think it'll have to go to Accenture, technology/cloud is eating business, if you could pick between ACN or D shares most people would pick ACN. Its a public company and works like gigantic sales machine with fingers in every pie.

I'm non-US so don't want to speak for career prospects. But I'd imagine they are similar, if the offer is a level up and pay bump, just move, you can always boomerang.

Can someone walk me through the Do's and Don't's of AA miles? I think they're a joke.

I have 65k miles and I could only pay for a one-way ticket from PHX-JFK. I had to book 1 leg with miles and the 1 with cash, but booking the other leg in cash was about 80% of the round trip in cash.

My mom has 12k miles that expire soon, transferring them would cost me $450. I can pay for a round trip with that cash but I can only pay for a trip to my kitchen with those 12k miles.

What am I doing wrong? 😂
