Returning to B4 firm post-MBA in a few months - I was thinking I'd like to start reaching out to some of the contacts I'd networked with last summer to see what they're up to / what projects they have pending. Just wondering if this makes sense or if it'd be more annoying than anything. Thanks
I've got an upcoming interview for data science manager at PwC. Can anyone share any insights on the application process, and details about the grade/remuneration at this level? Not familiar with big 4
boutique vs. big 4 vs. MBB? Pros and cons.
Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4
Been on the bench for 5 weeks. What should I be working on? Reaching out to people but still no bites on initiative work. Do I just sit here?
How much does firm prestige matter? Currently at lesser known firm with lower than B4 reputation.
How difficult is it to move into IB if you get into a Top 15 business school, but don’t have a finance background? In my case, my background is in B4 implementation work.
ACN peeps...I want to take PTO while on the bench. Is there anyone besides CC/TFS that I should notify?
Idk what to do with my career. I feel very lost. I have been sitting on the bench a lot. I have tried networking but no projects come up. Not that I’m complaining about having no work, but I just feel like I’m missing out on the experiences and personal growth / development. As someone early on their career, I would like to learn as much as possible. Should I apply for other jobs?

What firms do you think do the best job of staffing wherein you're able to get off the bench easily have the most flexibility in choosing projects outside your team?
Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?
Is it normal to be on bench for more than 3 months in infosys ?? When I check with manger he is telling no need to worry .. need update from senior infy folks ..
How have you rolled off of an engagement? I started the conversation with my Sr and I was told "staff don't tell Sr's what to do." can you see why I want a change?
Long Post : I have a divorced female friend that I have known for over 15 years and consider as a sister. For the past couple weeks because I was on the bench and bored we talked about an hour+ often, especially when I am walking and need company. My wife went through my T mobile call history and mad because I'm talking to her too often and too long. She knows the friend as well and we all hangout on multiple occasions. Am I doing something wrong here? Or my wife is just insecure?

Going into a big 4 company as an experienced hire, say KPMG, what is the training process like? Or is there even one?
Accepted freelance job to start Mon on Weds. Thurs. co. comes back and says possible problem with OOO dates, which I made clear prior to starting interview process. Friday and no word on go/no go. ?
Moms any advice? My husband will take a paternity leave mid this year to help me out but his company’s (big 4) year end promotion happens when he’s on leave. He has been on track to be promoted to sr manager (of course nothing guaranteed)— should he ask his manger the question “will the promotion decision be impacted by my leave?” We know the answer probablywill be “no” which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s zero impact in reality. Or, asking this question makes him look bad? Con’t
How hard would it be to make the jump from designer to art director? For context, when applying for this job I thought I would be a designer with some ideation opportunities (there are no Junior Art Directors in our creative hierarchy). Craving for more ideation/big-thinking art direction in my next gig.
With a production tax credit (PTC) does the client also have to reduce the basis of their asset with the credit?
Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy Credentials: Junior SCM major with 4.0 GPA with SC Internship and retail customer service/sales experience Rutgers University
My wife was informed a few weeks ago that she would be laid off as of end of year. She signed the paperwork and will be receiving a decent severance due to her tenure there. Now the company is saying they may have some other work for her to do for a few months and they could extend her contract if interested. If she says no, is she still eligible for her severance since she already signed her paperwork?
Child on my flight playing a learning game with no head phones. "Touch the h... Awesome!" Once we're in the air it will be "touch that Q one more time and I'm breaking your game"
Started at a new company two months ago… everyone is nice but I feel like no one is actually friends with each other. At EY, people would just shoot the sh*t and send memes, and talk about things besides work, now it’s all accounting and Covid. How have you gotten closer to your coworkers and created a warmer environment?
Did you ever have thoughts of divorce within the first year of your child’s life? This has been so difficult (not parenting, but managing our marital issues) and even with therapy it has not gotten any better.
Hi, Does anyone have any idea about xoriant? Is it a product or service based? How's the job security, WLB? And do they send employees to work from client locations?
Covid19 - the facts Is it ok to start a thread here guys ? I work with the TechHandbook and also keeping a good eye on Ruqqus Covid19 https://coronavirustechhandbook.com/
Since bashing the government (during any administration) is par for the course, worth mentioning that the COVID test kit site is amazing. Takes 20 seconds to submit the order. Very well done and easy.
Hey does anyone have like a health coach? Or know where to her one? Someone to get you fit and looking like “celeb body” style? Like tells you what to eat, workout, drink, skin health etc?
Hey guys. I have a technical interview with AlixPartners restructuring and turnaround team. This is for their summer intern position. I didn’t come from a restructuring background. Does anyone have an idea of what might get asked in the interview? Is it going to be very restructuring specific or some general accounting/ finance/ operational sides of topics.
Does anyone run a business in addition to their firm? I’m a solo and I’m doing pretty well with about 60-70 billable hours a month. Though that leaves a lot of downtime. Curious if anyone has any second businesses that require about 20 hours a week. Not looking for passive income or franchise ideas though.
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
