Welcome to the bowl. I personally can’t answer this question, and assume most agency folks don’t often work directly with sales, but perhaps someone on the client side can relate or has ideas for how to improve these relationships.
Sales teams are notoriously hard to work with for in-house teams. The only way out of that is shared goals/metrics that both teams care about AND contribute to, but even then, it’s rare to find a sales team that enjoys working with marketing and vice versa. I feel spoiled by my current sales team, but of course there’s some tug and pull still.
