*everyone waiting to get triggered by the type of woman they’re referencing*
I know people are going to react to this but if you have the self discipline to make it to the top in business you’re often not the type to let yourself go physically. People that exercise the intellectual and emotional muscles necessary to excel are unlikely to treat their body like an amusement park. Men are over represented and so you see more varieties but given that women have to work harder to get to the top, you’re also getting the top 1% of the top 1%.
Genetic “reasons” apply to a very small percentage. The vast majority of us that are overweight are overweight are this way because as D2 says, our input exceeds our output. In order to reach the level of obesity that some male execs are, there is no other conclusion than too many boozy dinners and sedentary days. Also, you can typically very easily tell when someone is larger but in good shape vs someone who is overweight and out of shape!
How do y'all know c suite people's shapes and sizes ??
Yes, women who are not slender are definitely discriminated against. Not only in work but in life
Let’s be honest the real type here is white ...
What type of woman do you see in the C suite
Really? Most men I see in c-suite are also tall and slender (at least for their age group).
Tall/slender typically. Just wondering if women who dont fit this description are discriminated against.
Yes, they are.
Because the country/world are still full of powerful, wealthy, misogynistic old white men, as evidenced by the current state of U.S. politics
What type of woman?
Indra Nooyi is probably one of the few exceptions that prove the rule...
Maybe it varies by industry — in healthcare I see quite a lot of variety in what the female execs look like
Agree with that.
I don't see this in the health plan & provider space. Healthcare may be an exception.
It’s not just women, it’s very well documented that C-suite executives are much much much more likely than normal to be over 6 feet in men’s case as well.
There are just a lot more men in C-suites.
Did you ever see Cathy Engelbert (Deloitte's previous CEO)? Sure she was tall but not slender!
I mean that assumes that people hold the same view or attribute the same importance to physical well being. I know a lot of people who will give you their all at work but do the bare minimum to work out cause as long as they don’t see themselves as obese their fine with not being the pinnacle of health
