I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. my cousin was laid off last year. He was making about 80K+comm - sales role. He finally got two offers (each at 40K+comm). He said it was too low and declined both. I tried explaining to him that he has more leverage being IN a job than out no matter the salary. Then he tells me that the roles he turned down wouldn’t allow him to interview for other roles. What is your policy on a rehire and how you handle accrual rates for PTO, do you start over? Do you have a window like if they return within 6 months it stays with original hire date? Do you handle this differently when it is a layoff? I tried to find best practices in this but not finding anything.

How do you think your company is faring the new market conditions, and do you think the measures taken have been fair? So far at KPMG no layoffs, but no bonus or merit increases. Promotion increases are still happening, but hard to tell if promotions are going to be that common. Overall I believe the firm has done a good job of communication of measures taken both economically and logistically (not returning to office till at least 2021).

Gotta love the Dems projecting about “stamina”. Trump’s been in different state every day of the week doing multi-hour rallies, and a townhall tonight. Biden called a lid on his campaign at 10am all week. But Dems gotta do what Dems gotta do, I guess!

In 2016 Trump came ahead by a lower margin, and despite clear and then proven interference by Russia and collusion with the Trump campaign, everybody accepted the result, and congratulated Trump the day after.
This time around there is a wider margin, no evidence of any major interference or illegal activity, and Trump and GOP are refusing to recognize the President elect, because they lost.
