Several staffing firms have reached out for positions. Not familiar with how they work. If you accept a position, are you an employee of the client or the staffing firm? They also asked for my desired hourly rate 🤔

You’d basically be an independent contractor with the staffing companies as your agent. You’d give them a % of your hourly rate, if they land you a gig. No benefits, 401K, or health insurance. It’s all on you

like

Typically your still an independent contractor. They will just be guiding you through the interview process and negotiate a hourly rate for you

Can a manager become an independent contractor and go work for their existing client if going through a staffing company? Is this a work around the non-compete Managers sign?

Currently in the final stages of the interviewing process for a "non-partnership track attorney" position at a top-ranked big law firm. I graduated from law school in 2019, and my eventual goal would be to work as an Associate on the partnership track at a medium-sized firm. Will this position "stain" my resume compared to staying in my current position as an attorney for an SRO?

What's the best way to negotiate PTO on an offer? Got a very fair salary up front don't really see the need to push the boundary there because from reports online they are offering higher than market average. But the PTO accrual rate is incredibly low. 10 days a year for the first year + 9 holidays (coming from a job with 20 + all holidays). I'd like to see if I can ask for 15 to start and have the normal accruals bumps after that.
