Looking for career trajectory advice. I started in house at a bio-tech right out of law school making $80k, worked my way to $100k. Recently took an associate position at a business law firm making $125k. I’m 5 years out of law school. What should be my next benchmark?

I left an ACD Copy job in tech for a CD role at another co. I had one direct non-copy report and was set to hire 2 CWs when a hiring freeze then layoffs brought our vision to an end (Sept). I managed 2 freelancers, provided creative direction to them/our team and acted as sole co. writer but wonder if my short 5 1/2 mos as a CD won’t be enough for future CD job consideration. I’m open to Sr CW / ACD roles but unsure how to go for CD roles when I feel like an “almost CD.” Thoughts? TY!

I got an offer from IBM and wanted to understand how the PF deduction works.
So the compensation breakup is like
Fixed pay(basic+FBP) + Gratuity(4.8% of basic) + PF(12% of basic)

Is the PF mentioned in the offer breakup, employers PF or employee PF? If its the employers PF, will the same amount(12% of basic) will again be deducted from my fixed as employee PF contribution?

How stable is Mastercard? I have an offer from them and a food beverage company and my interest is definitely in mastercard but concerned about layoffs.
TC for both is 126k exactly so can’t base it off that either. I’m definitely way more interested in the tech space but like I said this economy is worrisome and I know food and beverage are the last to be affected.

Layoffs at VSA Partners today in Chicago and NYC. 25 people. Don't worry, though, because almost all of the director level and execs didn't get cut! Phew! Only largely senior level designers!

I am fairly new to LGL (10 months in). I had been practicing criminal law before. I really like LGL because I get to work on something new every day and most of the questions posed to me require creative thinking/solutions. But I do find myself feeling discouraged many days bc there is just so much I don’t know. I understand things will get better and may come easier to me with time and experience. How long did it take for you to feel comfortable and feel like you have a handle on most issues?

1. Investment Management Firm - Would be doing a lot of RCSAs, Internal Risk Management assessments.

2. Product based GRCs SaaS Firm - Would be part of the security compliance team, facilitating Security Compliance audits, responding to customers over security topics.

What do you recommend, priority is learning and opportunities in the long run.

Does PWCs risk assurance practice include DRS? As in, if I have a data science background, would I get exposure to DRS projects or an entirely separate business unit? Any exposure to coding in RA?

IT audit people.. specifically IT SOX.. (I moved from Sox in 2019 so plz pardon my ignorance) with the Sox amendments in 2018 to include cyber security.. do you guys now audit for cyber risk as well? And not just ICFR? What are some of the main changes?
