Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I feel like going to my boss and refusing to continue to do these extra tasks without extra compensation. Am I being a baby about this?

This is a genuine question for people in Texas: what do you view as the role of state government? I ask because it seems like Texas can’t manage it’s own electrical grid system, yet, I would think this is one of the most fundamental and basic aspects of state government. I am planning to get visa stamping with my current employer in about 2 weeks. I have an offer with a different employer and they will PP H1-B transfer. Should I push appointment until the H1-B transfer is completed and then stamp? TIA

My start date with EY is 1/17. Law firm initiated H1B transfer (PP) on 12/14 but as of now the petition hasn't been filed yet. Is it even realistic for the start date to be on the 17th at this point? I'm worried because I also wanted to give my current employer 2 weeks notice but with this situation I don't even think it's possible anymore.

I’m EB3 (China) with a PD of 4/2021, my lawyer just told me she projected immigration visa will be available for my case by mid-2031. 🤣 I’ll be like what, 40 years old by then? Lol I don’t know if I wanna spend my next 10 years being restricted by visa all the time.

US immigration question. Green card interview date was cancelled in March 2020. It’s been a whole year of just waiting for a reschedule date, so the I-485 is transferable (e.g. to another state, another employer). Has anyone transferred their i-485 to another employer? What was that process like? Would my process start from the interview phase? How did you prove that the next job was in the same category? Please mention if you did the process before or during the pandemic. Thanks so much.
