Shelf life for associates. Can a 5th-7th year associate lateral from an AM200 to a firm that pales Cravath for labor and employment? Had a recruiter say “5th-7th years are used goods.”

5-7 year is much more difficult but possible, it depends on the market you are trying to make a move in and it will also depend on your credentials. I am happy to discuss the issues with you..DM me

Hello Fishes,

Any idea when we get relieving letter/service certificate from TCS?

My LWD was 16th September and I received FNF on 26th September. Also got initial release letter on my LWD.

I see so many issues in this organisation.
When I joined TCS after 5 days of joining they used to mail me every week for 5 continuous weeks and asked me every time for previous organisation relieving letter.
But they themselves don’t share it and delay a lot.

Anyone please advise.

Everytime I work on the weekend I get into some sort of fight with my spouse. Anyone else get annoyed when their spouse constantly asks you when you’ll be done working, or asks how much longer you have to work. It annoys the hell out of me. I don’t want be working on a Sunday anymore than my spouse wants me to be working. But I have to. I don’t need reminded that I am disappointing my family in addition to working on the weekend. Am I alone in thinking this? Am I wrong to get so annoyed?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I have a few former classmates and colleagues sweating over lateral interviews. Take a deep breath and relax.

First, doing these interviews does not define you as a person.

Second, take it one day at a time; if they are moving forward, they see something in you.

Third, remember that the people interviewing you are human beings. Connect with them, be personable.

First year (now 2nd? How does this work with c/o 2022 lol) on track to end the year at ~1,750 hours. I already know that no one in my class year in my office is hitting 2,000 (and we’ve repeatedly been told not to stress about hours our first few years), but idk how far below 2,000 is okay. Am I fine or should I be worried?
