Try some of the local lenders. They sometimes provide a better rate.

I would get a quote from at least 1 credit union, 1 local mortgage company, and 1 big bank. If you find one is significantly lower than the others, get another quote from that category and compare. For example our local mortgage company had by far the best rate, so we got a second quote from another local lender.

Nice strategy, thanks

Local credit union or small business often have just as competitive offers and won’t sell your mortgage

Rocket Mortgage. All online and lower overhead which means lower rates for you than from a bank. I had a great experience.

Chase too

Local small lender vs big name lender. Pro: lower cost; con: less efficient loan processing and less user friendly payment system. I think the pro trumps the cons.

Got the best rate and easiest process from Better a couple months ago.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. My realtor mentioned this, but wasn't sure if that was common.

Loan depot. Put your info in lending tree and you will get competitive offers.

Would anyone that has moved from Big 4 to MBB be willing to chat for 15-30 minutes? I’m hitting a point where I am enjoying consulting (advisory) but I’m not sure the idea of narrowing in on a specific industry and exact skillset appeals to me. Seems like MBB is broader and I’m curious (also not assuming I could even get in, but I want to explore the option).

Remember when Fauci said we didn't need masks then said we did but only N95 masks, but then said any face covering will work. Then said if you're vaccinated you need to double mask. Then said you can single mask. Then said no masks if you're vaccinated. Now the CDC says you need a 3rd vaccine shot to "greatly" prevent delta variant. But no, EVEN if you're vaccinated you can get Covid. Like f off. This is not exact science clearly. I have taken 2 shots but now I refuse to listen to this BS.

Need help comparing the offer. Trying to prioritize money and lifestyle OFFER 1: strategy role 370k (including base, bonus and equity) + some sign on + 401k. Legacy company, not sure if I will prefer to stay for more than 2 years; OFFER 2: 230k (base + bonus) + 125k equity/year (targeted liquidity event in 4-5 years) + some sign-on. I like the role in offer 2 more and the the company is growing 30-40% but startup life ain’t easy. Is offer 2 a better option or would you consider it very risky?

My firm recently removed the CPA requirement to make manager in FDD stating that it is following the market. Being a CPA is definitely better than not being one but will it hurt my exit opportunities if I decide to not pursue my license? Do companies outside of public accounting even care that much about having your license / are others seeing this same trend?

Considering leaving Bain with 2 years in SM role, HSW MBA, and 11 years since undergrad. Google role is non-technical Cloud Strategy. Unsure of title or level at this point - called "lead" but contact indicated flexibility. Would be remote in a non-SF/NY location. Mgr indicated it was technically an individual contributor role though I would be managing 2 people. What comp/level should I expect (Assuming L6?)? What is the significance of the IC role if I'm technically managing 2?
