Shorted Twitter because there’s no way that their board will take the money and let Elon bring back Donald Trump. He’ll sell his shares and their stock price will plummet imo

You’re underestimating Elon. He will hostilely takeover if he wants

like

No he won’t. He’ll pump and dump and move on after grifting a bunch of conservative bag holders, as is tradition.

The establishment government will get involved too. They are already dipping their toes by calling the saudis to a/b test the block through Alwaleed Bin Talal. The SEC will probably want to “review” things as well. If he continues there will be a new environmental analysis needed at his Texas spaceX facilities. I predict Elon liquidates his shares on 4/20.

I think you're overestimating how much they care about anything besides money. Twitter will never be a cash cow, it's survived for years on people treating it as an important place to communicate. They get out, saddle Elon with the sinking ship, and laugh as he fails to do anything.

like

PWC1. I agree.

I personally bought shares right after the post-IPO slump bc it seemed to be so popular/important/mainstream that I felt like they would eventually figure things out.

I admittedly know nothing about the economics of the business, but am legitimately curious how have they failed to sufficiently monetize things when you have similar companies (Instagram, TikTok) printing money?

Shorting individual stocks isn’t really FIRE

like

In 2026 it will be clear that the struggle to control Twitter may also be seen as old “oil money” vs. new “electric money” struggle.

Battle of the biggest shareholders. Kingdom Holdings and Elon Musk.

Elon will get there eventually

Word on the street is that Twitter wants to make an offer with a poison pill to keep Elon from gaining too much power
