Should administration hire subs every six weeks to help teachers plan?

Wow. I’m one of those teachers that hate to be out of my classroom. I was at one district that did this and every time I had to go back in my room and fix what the sub did. It’s hard enough to get consistency and routines in the classroom. Extra breaks from the room are not enjoyable for me.

No. Teachers belong in classrooms not meetings.

My old district did this and we found it INCREDIBLY helpful. Each grade level team got a half day every 6 weeks or so, to meet and plan and organize and such. We had weekly meetings but they were the quick 35 min during prep periods, so those half days were major

Hmmmm. What a great idea!

Yes

In my district, we get 1 day a semester to meet with the other teachers in our department. It is very helpful! We can share ideas and work together as a team

At our Elementary School we get 1 day per trimester for our grade level to plan together. It helps a lot since our daily 20 minute prep is only 10 minute , by the time students are picked up (Kindergarten)

I took a mental health break a mo ago. Since I have came back a lot has changed, for the worse. Everything is an asap project, everything doesn’t have a budget (but billability goals) = burnout. Many conversations that always end with very little help or support, including HR ghosting me for 3 weeks and gaslighting. I am interviewing but feeling drained daily and want to quit asap but for $ security with the oncoming recession, I am trying to stay until I get an offer. Advice?

Want to do a sanity check. I’m making $110K and single. Right now max 401K, 50/50 traditional/Roth split. If I know I’ll be in school next year and will only work 6 months next year, should I aim to maximize Roth *next year* ? And therefore, maximize traditional this year? Thoughts? Thansk!

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!
I am SAP HCM consultant having 4.10 years of experience. I feel that this module doesn’t have any growth. My first switch took me to 9LPA from 6LPA and now the second switch is being offered for 11.5LPA where I can see my fellow friends in SAP having more than 15LPA at the same experience on their second switch itself. Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.

Specific question regarding cases: I’m realizing while practicing that there is no “correct” structure in any given case (i.e., it seems to me that your structure can be different to the solution, without being “wrong”). So how should I know that my structure is good/detailed enough? Any indicators?

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

Hi guys, I’m debating switching careers. I’m currently a mortgage loan officer but I’m very interested in SE. My degree is in finance. There’s a coding bootcamp near me called Boca Code that’s supposed to be top notch. I’m curious for feedback on 1. Are coding bootcamps actually a way into the industry like they’re marketed? And 2. What is a realistic starting salary for entry level SE? I’ve read and been told 90k, but that seems high.
