Should I ask for a raise? My 6-month review is next week and I’m thinking about asking for a raise. I wouldn’t, but I would say “what additional goalposts do I need to hit to get a raise by my one year” or something similar

Asking for a raise now may result in a small boost, vs a larger boost by waiting. Whoever made the first comment about asking what goals you need to hit on to get a raise is spot on. It also doesn't catch your manager by surprise- hopefully if they are in your court, they will start making the case for you to get a proper boost to exec leadership, as opposed to being backed into a corner and giving you scraps of whatever "discretionary" funds are currently left.

Normally I’d agree with the above. But the market is REALLY hot right now. Have other agencies been trying to recruit you? If so, that’s a sign that you could probably be getting more money somewhere else. Agencies are desperate to retain employees right now, so you may have some leverage there.

Hi ladies, I need some advice here: Recruiter reached out asking what I’m looking for in terms of salary (prior to any interviews) for a role that’s a higher title. Recruiter followed with a salary $X that the role is currently offering. The market has a wide range. Their current salary amount falls about the lower third of market range (smaller agency). What would you do? I’d love to interview but don’t want be bound by anything I say at this stage.

Received an invite for a superday very quickly after applying to Goldman. Recruiter never sent me the zoom password and then the password failed to work so everything started a full 15 minutes late. Hired a new nanny and currently on day 2. I am still on maternity leave so helping toddler transition and baby. She seems nice but tardy and my toddler is a rocket. My husband made breakfast for me she came and ate it. She helped the toddler nap and now sleeping lying next to him 🤦‍♀️. Baby cried and she put him in car seat and tried to rock him along with car seat . She was so nice during the trial (sweeet) but I am confused now on what did I sign up for ! Can I get some tips please ?
