Should I be investing money in 401k? International here under OPT and have been hearing that if I decide to not stay in the US/don’t get the visa, i would need to retire the funds and pay a 10% penalty. Any thoughts? Can I just leave my money int he US if I go back home and take it out at 60?

Hi everyone, not sure if I have any options but figured it doesn’t hurt to ask. I signed a lease in June for $2050 when I was under the impression it wouldn’t get lower than that. The same apartment is now down $1650 and has been dropping. this is super frustrating since it’s such a dramatic drop. It’s almost more cost effective to break the lease for $4k in order to save $4500 over 12 months - $500 in total savings + cheaper if I renew next year. Do I have any negotiation power? This may be an elementary question, but my credit score just randomly dropped 20 points. I keep my utilization very low. Almost all of my financial transactions are on my credit card, and I pay everything off by each statement. One month I didn’t get a chance to pay everything off because there were some transactions made on my statement date that I was not able to pay off because they were listed as pending. This resulted in my utilization going up to 6%. My credit score did not change (cont).

Humble opinion needed: dream has always been buying a house in a nice area, goal is to put 10% down to purchase a house around 700-800k. Do you think this is doable for a Salary 150-160k ??
