Yes, why pay more tax than you have to? Unless you need the liquidity/ flexibility, like you were going to use it for a house or car or vacation or something, you’d be better off either reducing your current tax (traditional) or letting it grow tax free (Roth).

If you plan to invest in stocks and hold until retirement then it’s silly not to get tax benefits of traditional/Roth IRA. But if you want to invest in stocks for more liquidity to save to buy a house or something like that then it’s logical.
