Did someone say pizza party???
Hi all,
I have two campus EY Deloitte on the table from Deloitte Tax (BTS), and EY Tax (DSG). Both are located in the SF Bay Area. Deloitte is paying 2k higher base and a 2k higher bonus.
I have to make my decision by the end of next week, so I’d appreciate some input and opinions on which offer I should take.

My understanding was that often was the baseline. But as you move through a level (senior 1-3), you should be getting higher rankings as your compared against all individuals with that rank. So while often might be fine at senior 1, it’d be more concerning at senior 3. Curious to see how others view the system as it seems to vary by team and office.
Yes
The problem is that it is completely arbitrary depending on who does the review. Even the official “better conversations” guidelines leave a lot of room for judgement
I would also like to know. I have no idea.
EY1: that makes zero sense. The rating is based on your performance vs. your peers/expectations of the rank. By your standards/approach, all senior managers and PPEDDs should be gold standard. Wrong!!
“Usually” is really good. If you’re getting a lot of “usually”, that means you’re above average. “Sometimes” is baseline. Anything over that is above average
EY 5: I think you’re misunderstanding. The idea is that you need to progress within a rank. Once you go to the next level (manager), you start back at the bottom where often is the baseline.
Does it really make zero sense? I fear for your critical thinking skills.
