Perceived value of skills (by recruiters)
AWS = Azure = GCP
In terms of opportunities
AWS > Azure = GCP
In terms of exam toughness
GCP > AWS = Azure

I did all three and this is from my experience

yeaaa AWS has most of the market share. included GCP because i thought it would be easiest. either way Azure seems to be losing?

I highly recommend you do AWS. It is very well thought out and if its your first move into cloud, Azure and GCP will make more sense if you start with AWS. AWS is more mature in this space. I made the mistake of starting with Azure which was a struggle....but when i did AWS....it all made sense.

AWS is also the platform with the biggest marketshare.

GCP is really lacking adoption… So, go with AWS or Azure… If you are in retail industry, then do Azure cz retail industry don’t like AWS since Amazon is a competitor… Otherwise AWS has maximum adoption… At least that is what my understanding is…

like

oh i guess google cloud is in the running as well lol

like

GCP Data Engineer and Cloud Architect, would suggest starting with the Cloud Architect, gives you a higher level understanding

My organization for example is looking for additional certified azure specialists so we can achieve higher partnership tiers with Microsoft… you may check with your employer and see if they have a preference, since you don’t seem to have one. Scratching your employer’s back can only benefit you.

Ok, Thanks D1.

TBH all the public cloud providers have opportunities that’ll allow you to earn more. I don’t think it’s technology or company dependent.

I think what you may want to think about are the type of roles that will help you earn more and your path to get there.

I’m working on AWS CCP, not really sure on the difference other than the vendor lol just chose one and ran with it

like

Why not do all 3. AWS, Azure then GCP?

If you really want to gain knowledge, look for the courses (free courses) offered by EDX/Coursera/Linux Academy OR look for the courses offered by universities. Real knowledge will help you in long run.

likefunny

Azure for sure since data migration is great on it

Which one is utilitized at your current job? Cloud skills and architecture knowledge are relatively transferable, but you should maximize what is going to get you into a position to begin practicing on production workloads as much as possible.

Products that span all cloud providers are interesting as well if you want a true DevOps role. Look into Ansible, Terraform, and Chef.

i'd just pick the one you like most, cloud is pretty hot rn

but if i were pressed and you were looking money over everything, Id slightly lean towards Azure.

Can't emphasize the "slightliness" enough tho :)

Avoid starting with GCP, if you are new to cloud. The GCP cloud platform is powerful and comparable to others, but learning for beginners is difficult.

Both are lucrative. We're seeing more growth in Azure, but AWS is still on top.

All of them do typically the same thing with different names for their service names + different UI. AWS + Azure exams are easier for now, and are leading the space in market share. Google and Oracle are almost treated as one off specialties because companies will typically sign with them as they have competition related conflict with Amazon and Microsoft from a business perspective, and they’ll want certified people on those projects.

Difference between AWS and Azure is like how apple is different from orange. Both are fruits and good for health and we can’t say one is good and other is bad.AWS has more services and greater market share. To answer your question , I would say start with AWS and get certified .

AWS go with a leader

I am Azure certified expert architect, focused on highly Microsoft based (SQL Server, Windows Server) clients for the last 4 years. It's a valuable skill. Also got AWS Cloud Practicioner to know the other side.

Thanks IBM2.

Should I get cloud certified, focus more on software engineering, or delve into data science if money is the primary priority?

Took 20 mins for the proctor to verify everything before checking me in. About a third of the way through my questions the proctor popped into the chat saying stop whispering and moving you mouth. Totally put me on edge as I was just reading through to better understand the question. That threw me off a bit.

Hi Fishes,
Am a Cybersecurity Associate Consultant with 3 YOE. Currently am working on L3 role. Have got an offer from IBM for the band 06A and L1 role. In the interview manager said as I don't have any relevant certification and my explanation could be theoretical, so he can only consider me for L1 roles. And I need to network within the organization to work as a L2 that too after 6 months of joining.
Is 06A right band for me, how should I negotiate to review my band after accepting the offer

I'm the only employee with a background in finance in a tech startup growing at a 300%+ per year. But it's actually my first finance-related experience (interned and now part-time as I'm in my senior year of undergrad) and don't know really how to have an impact as my knowledge is "limited" and have no technical mentorship.

Any advice/mentorship would be wonderful!

Good morning! I work in Medicare sales and I’m just getting tired of sales because I have to change these elderly people on their insurance very frequently, and it’s frustrating most of the time. I eventually want to be a Christian counselor and I just stared school but that’ll take awhile to get where I want to be. I just want to be happy right now without taking a major pay cut leaving sales. I’m making 80k now, I don’t need to keep making that but a decent amount while still helping people. 🙏
