50k in CC debt? Holy shit.
Just downgrade to no annual fee version if they're older cards
What on earth did you buy that racked up $50K? Please don't tell me they are everyday expenses.
I made a different thread about this. Ex-fiancée situation :-(
No bro. You got to figure out how you can make more.
Don't close cards, especially if they're older. Switch to a no fee card like D1 recommends
I already consolidated with SoFi. And have a 21 month payoff plan.
P1, we were engaged and I was stupid enough to support her crazy lifestyle and spending habits. #ThingsYouDoForLove
OP that's cool. As long as you had fun. It is just paper anyways. Who cares
What reason did they give you, P1? The process has been pretty smooth. In fact, it was someone here that suggested them in my previous post. Interest is around 9% @ 50k for 36 months, which is way better than the 21% average on my cards.
Ouch OP, I'm sorry that you're in this situation
Ouch. Sorry, man. Have you tried Prosper? I came across them in the past.
Don't close old accounts hurts your credit score, just downgrade to no fee
And make sure when you downgrade they aren't processing it as a close and open
I can't justify keeping it with the $195/year annual fee. I also have the Chase United Club card with a $450/year annual fee, which I want to close too. I'm thinking of closing that too and switching over to Delta, since I get the Amex Platinum with Delta lounge access for free. I'll go from 1K on United to Platinum onDelta, but it's the cost of getting out of debt and being frugal.
What was the situation? I have also 50K in debt but I bought a house and did shit lots of renovations and shit.
Sounds like you need to consolidate to a single CC until you figure out how to be more financially responsible (assuming the 50k in debt wasn't due to a family/medical emergency).
SoFi didn't let me to consolidate mine
Thanks D3.
They told me too short of a credit history and too high debt to income ratio 🤔🙄
