Have held TS/SCI w/FSP in the past. The work that’s done at the agencies that require it (CIA, NSA, ODNI) can be extremely rewarding, even for green badgers. You do give up most of the flexibility of remote work (though not necessarily all in a post-Covid environment). It also basically guarantees that you’ll never go too long without a job since folks with current SCIs are hard to come by.

It’s not zero, but it’s not a lot.
Secret clearance is enough for me. Working in a SCIF sucks… no windows at all just walls … basically like being on submarine tour of duty.

I’m just saying that it’s agency dependent. The Big 5 agencies tend to have newer buildings with windows. The military intel offices… less so.
Huh? I am lost. What do you mean should you go? It's whatever your 1) Money can afford and 2) It's whatever the agency you're with is sponsoring you for.
I don't think you get to pick a clearance level...or I'm I missing something? 👀
Sure. I guess the approach here will be if they can sponsor you for a clearance that will still guarantee you remote
How do you get high security clearance without having experience in the military? What is that process?

Lol I was an intern in the Support directorate. I literally did help desk stuff (but hey I was an IT major and it got me the TS/SCI). When they wanted me to come back and do help desk full time after college, I politely declined and went to a Beltway bandit. I had many friends who were doing substantially cooler things as interns at Langley though.
