Should I leave big four audit after two years to take a staff accountant role, would this be good for my career development? Is this common or should I be looking at senior accountant roles. I’m worried this job won’t be challenging if people fresh out of college enter this role

Why did you join big four if you end up settling at a staff accountant role? There is definitely a better role for you out there. Patience is key in the job search

like

Well if you say people fresh out of college can get this role , for this particular company, then you should probably be looking at senior accountant roles. If they need prior experience...anything from 3-5years, wether staff or senior accountant and the salary is within the range you want, I'll say give it a shot

Not all Title descriptions in industry translate to what we have in public. You can have people who are staff accountant doing "senior" level work. Look at what you will be doing in your role instead. And if the title is so important to you, then apply to Senior Accountant positions instead.

What kind of work in that position would be senior level? It’s kind of difficult to ascertain what would be the equivalent work if you go from audit to working as an accountant for a firm

Hiya Guys, so I can tell I am burned out and inching into the grey pit of complacency. The burn out is already here, but the slide into grey-pit is not acceptable. I have a masters in business admin, 8+yrs of hospitality management experience, and a bachelors in science.

I really need advice/strategy for skill development, despite burn out and the weakened motivation. I am in a role that can, (in 2+ yrs), make me eligible to start at entry-level position in an area I want. I don't have 2 yrs.

Considering an exit to a startup that just completed a solid series B. They’re willing to provide competitive comp package and surprised how large the base is for a startup. Has me concerned about being on the high end and being the first person that comes to mind when it’s time to pinch a few pennies or clean up the books ahead of future rounds/IPO. Valid concern or am I overthinking it?

I have 10 years of experience. Mostly in Unix, C++ and Visual C++ and MS SQL. I developed interest in cloud computing as like many others and was able to clear AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate and Professional, AWS Security. Along with these I was able to clear 8 Azure certifications as well: 3 fundamentals, Azure Security, Azure Developer, Azure DevOps and Azure Architect.
Now my main question, can I try to switch on Cloud Architect or some other similar cloud roles?

I️ was working on proposal coordination for a non profit before and then I got an offer to work in Tech.
