Accenture’s been investing heavily in cloud so if you’re looking for training, certs, and experience Accenture may be a good move. You’ll also consistently get some of the higher raises/bonuses just by being in cloud. Obviously cons are long hours, stress, working for a client all the time, etc.
I’ve had both types of projects. Agree with A1 where it’s dependent of the individual and project in terms of WLB
Then you have your goal, now work back from there. Will Accenture, CISSP, Management, help you. Yes of course but is it the best way? Maybe.
You’ll spend time in ACN on multiple projects quickly learning a lot which can be leveraged when applying. Your goal could also be achieved in shorter time by just applying to FAANG but then you might not get in on the desired level.
In the end it takes som custom strategizing. But its not that hard getting there. The hard part in consulting is to “survive” if you don’t have the mentality. I’m not saying that consulting is hard just that for some it’s a bbq. Others thrive and stay.. ofc.
That doesnt sound that bad when you put it like that
Pros:
Exposure to area you want (duh)
Accelerated learning due to nature of projects
Exposure to multiple industries and networking opps
Brand name on resume
Great funded training, especially in Cloud
Cons:
Stress (dependent on person and individual circumstances)
Yes, in a way. What I mean is when because you work on different projects with different clients, you get accelerated learning in comparison to working in industry for 1 company doing mostly the same thing day in day out.
It always depends on what your end goal is. Does this change support that and does staying support it?
I want to work at FAANG and I felt that working at an big company as an employee for a while and seeing how they do things might better prepare me for that. not sure my other goals are relevant, I think I want to pursue CISSP and management.
Oui
What are the pros and cons.
