Should I max Roth 401k vs Traditional 401k in this scenario? Live in a reasonably high tax state now (Oregon) and now make over the income thresholds for a direct to Roth IRA. Will backdoor this year. I like the Roth route for being a predictable number for retirement but I’d be collecting basically $0 in tax benefits if I didn’t max the Traditional 401k and I don’t love the idea of paying all that tax on my maxed Roth 401k since I pay so much in extra state taxes for it

Really a comparison between tax rate now vs when you withdraw in retirement. No real way to know. Maybe split the 401k contribution? The lower your tax rate now, more likely that Roth is better. If you don’t reinvest any current tax benefit from traditional, Roth is better. Long winded way of saying you need to just make your best guess

If you are maxing the 401k, if you stay in the same tax bracket, I think Roth is probably a little better because of the capital gains.

Move to neighboring state Washington. That’s what I did and best decision ever

It also depends on if you expect to continue living in Oregon in the future or potentially move to a state like California down the line. Oregon taxes are painful but California ones hurt even more.

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

1) Indonesia 70%
2) Malaysia 80%
3) Thailand 75%

Hey everyone!
I'd love to get your feedback on our subscription marketing service.

My partner and I created a cost-effective subscription so small / medium-sized businesses could focus more running their business and strategies without the need to hire in-house, manage multiple freelancers, or fight with agencies.

We do this with a proprietary Workspace so marketing managers can delegate projects, connect with our team, and download completed work / files.
