Should I mention skillets I don't have during interview if it was a required skill? It seems I will be interviewing for a position where I have a lot of applicable skills except the 2 year cloud (I don't have any practical). Should I mention that or answer when asked?
I guess cloud and analytics are two areas I want to get into but due to my yoe, a new entry level into these roles doesn't fit the salary demand..

I wouldn’t mention what skillets you have or don’t have unless you’re interviewing to be a chef

I think it depends. Most skillsets that they mention in the job app are for the dream candidate that they’ll likely never get. It’s just like negotiating, you start higher than what you want so that you can land where you want.

Its funny because it is a required skill... but that position has been there since last year so idk...

Work in Industry Solutions at @Microsoft. Been here 1.5yrs, in the industry close to 20. Sr. Consultant at Level 64. I just got bumped from 160k to 172k + 39k bonus (UBI + CBI) and 48k in stock awards.

My core skills are Kubernetes, Containers, Advanced Architectures, and Process Optimization (DevOps). I feel like my salary, good as it is, is not up to par with the market. Friend of mine at Google makes close to 190k with much of the same. Thoughts?

I received a job offer for a PM position with a base of $125K and a 10% bonus, fully remote and ok benefits. The parental leave is pretty bad, just FMLA and STD/LTD so the most I’d get is 60% of my salary for 12 weeks. I’ve cancelled most of my interviews except for one where the pay is $135K, 20% bonus, hybrid schedule, good benefits and 16 weeks fully paid parental leave. I’d like to start my family in a year or two - is it better to take the remote gig or the hybrid role with full paid leave?

Happy Wednesday!!!!

I’m currently a Recruitment Consultant at an RPO with 4.5 YOE in Toronto. I received a salary raise last year. Recently I had another conversation with my manager for a comp raise. They was able to speak with their higher ups. Unfortunately, I got to know that they wouldn’t be able to increase my pay because of the economy. I’ve been working on heavy req loads and multi projects. But they are signing me up for a leadership program with a potential raise next year. Thoughts?
