Received a written offer from Amazon 4 wks ago, pushed for higher level, reinterview. HM supported it but couldn’t get it done. My og offer went from start date of oct 10 to Jan 3rd. Recruiter said the numbers are locked. I couldn’t reach the HM. Running out of time I accepted. I contacted the HM again saying yay! I accepted. I Have been ghosted for 5 days. Recruiter said background check should come via email soon. Haven’t seen anything. Weirdest experience ever. Why wouldn’t the HM reply?

Am I sabotaging myself by following up after an interview? They said that HR would reach out to me after 1-2 weeks. Today has been 3 weeks. Is it ok to reach out to them? 1st interview was from direct hiring supervisor.

I recently attended an interview with KPMG and cleared the technical rounds. I was promised 11.5 lpa fixed and now after clearing technical rounds they say 11 lpa fixed. The HR was also not ready to negotiate. During the technical rounds, the interviewer was straight forward and said there will be lot of work pressure and appraisal will be once in an year. Know someone at McKinsey who knows that I’m well qualified for roles there, but we’re not on the best terms. Is it worth it to ask them for a referral/ask them to direct me to other McK folks who could refer me? Worried that if they knew I was interested and they haven’t moved on from past disagreements that they could tell the recruiter to throw out my app/blackball me from the firm. This person is fairly junior in the firm, but don’t know how much influence they have.
