Hi,
I am looking to learn more about the NPI program manager role at Apple. Specifically want to understand the following:
1. What's exactly the day to day beyond the fluff job post?
2. What skills will be considered critical to be successful in the role?
3. How is success defined in the role?
4. What does the career progression look like?
5. What background is considered desirable for this role? Can one get into this role without prior background in NPI?
Thanks in advance!

The freaking hipsters man. It’s boomed so there are a lot of Tesla driving Californians buying up all the real estate and clogging up the highways. I’m liberal and I *still* said what I said.
Well, no electricity.
Well what do you like and what do you not like?

I lived in Dallas previously (so not Austin), but here were a couple of things I hated. It was so hot in the summer (Austin is even hotter). I mean oppressively hot like you cannot do anything in the afternoons during the summer because it is too hot. There aren’t real seasons. Spring is like a second long, same with fall. It’s just varying degrees of hot and then not so hot, and then hot again. Can you tell I am not one for hot weather? 😂
It’s really landlocked and everything is so far away. If you like to take road trips, there really aren’t many places to go. Texas is HUGE. You can drive for 12 hours and not leave the state. We would drive to Austin and hill country which is nice. But; there really isn’t much to do within driving distance if that interests you. It was a huge negative for me.
It’s not very pretty landscape-wise. Austin and Hill country is probably the prettier part of Texas but it’s still not that nice compared to other parts of the country. If you are into nature (trees, hiking, being outdoors), this might not be the place for you. Look at a lot of pictures and see if you could live there. I did not appreciate how much that would impact me until we lived there and I just hated not being around big trees and lush nature.
Austin is a blue bubble in a conservative state. Whichever side of the spectrum you are on, that can get frustrating.
