Yes and contribute to it now. You cannot contribute to Roth after a certain salary limit which is not far from you

Of course he can CSM1, he can do backdoor and maybe even megabackdoor Roth IRA

Your taxes should go down in the future so maybe a roth wont be worth it /s

SA1, thanks for that. I gotta learn the ropes 😂😂

I’d say open it and contribute at least 7% so you can have 15% going into retirement plus the match (icing on the cake). Numbers look great!

Thanks! :)

Currently live in NYC and I absolutely hate it as I love mountains and playing outdoors. I can either relocate now and have a stagnant but decent career that will allow me to enjoy my life. Yet, I also have ambition to climb up this corporate ladder in NYC and grind out here and hope to retire sooner and live wherever I want hopefully in 15 years or so and meantime travel occasionally to enjoy those things. Please share your wisdom. I need some advice. My LOS is pretty much exclusively NYC.

Just realized the importance of managing the retirement accounts and investments. Help please! I have about $7k in Traditional 401k. Nothing else. No brokerage accounts. My plan is to 1) open a Roth IRA and put $6,000 in it right away. And that will be included in my 2020 tax return right? 2) Convert my traditional 401k to Roth 401k when I quit in January. 3) Open a brokerage account and invest in ETFs. Is it reasonable to open in Charles Schwab since my 401k is there? Any input is appreciated!

This is a 401k and target date fund question. I'm 6-8 years out from retirement and have managed my own 401k to an aggressive growth asset mix for the past 20 years. Now looking to reallocate to protect against market volatility, and considering one of the Vanguard target date funds that is available in EY's 401k. Good idea to go all in on a target date fund? I think yes because that's the point of them, easier to manage, etc. Thoughts?
