Hey all, would love some advice. I’m a Business Analyst with 5 YOE and minimal technical skills. And I’m really unhappy where I’m at. Very underpaid, and feel like I’m limited in job opportunities. I want to become more technical but no idea where to even start! I was thinking about starting with a certification but most seems really tough to learn as a newbie. Any guidance/advice on which certs to look at? Was thinking AWS cloud practitioner as a starting point? Any help welcomed!!
Views/thoughts on CEIBS as a credible MBA school? Considering it to get exposure to Asia Tech/Finance scene
ACN Strategy or Strategy& 🐠: what’s the best way to recruit into your programs if you didn’t recruit from that candidate’s undergrad program (besides getting a MBA)? Are lateral hires rare?
Should I see baby driver or spiderman?
What are my best options for scoring small side gigs before end of year? I deduct lots of business expenses for doing some freelance work, but we had a baby so I didn’t earn any 1099s this year.

My first experience with a Karen today. I was sitting today in my front yard with my pitbull leashed to a tree. This woman stopped in front of my house and said - as per city ordinance it’s illegal to leash dogs in the front yard and I need to hold the leash and I kid you not threatened to call cops on me. Mind you, my dog was passed tf out and its only fault was being a pitbull that Karen didn’t approve of. I told her ‘Call the cops, I dare you’ and started recording. She walked away grumbling.
High perf M1 at Big4 in comm. and received Associate offer from MBB. Pay bump is somewhat ok and I get to work on something cooler but feels like a step back in career. Feeling conflicted. Thoughts?
Am I crazy for thinking being a mom is harder than working in biglaw? I’m a mid level associate and FTM currently on maternity leave and the amount of sleeplessness over the past few weeks have convinced me my job is a piece of cake in comparison. I’m so overwhelmed.
Looking for advice on how/when to tell my bosses I’m pregnant. I’m only 8 weeks and have my first doctor’s appointment this week to confirm the pregnancy. We haven’t told any family or friends yet. We have been back in the office since June, so I’m not working remotely. I plan to wait until 12/13 weeks to tell anyone at work. I’m 29 and a 4th year associate. I do work for 4 main partners, though I have closer working relationships with some more than others. Any advice appreciated!
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
If my goal is to move to big tech as a Product Manager, would it better to first go into a small business as a Product Manager? Or go ahead and get my MBA at a top 15 school? Currently doing tech implementations for analytics dashboards.
Any parent willing to share experience and journey for a mild Autism child over the years. When you noticed, how it progressed, what helped the most etc. 3yr son is diagnosed with mild Autism and I feel he is getting better in some areas but worse with stimming and zoning out. I know evey child is different but a worried parent trying to decipher what future holds. Thanks!
I heard a rumor that some partners at MBB firms (and maybe other consulting firms, too?) can hold a plane. Is there any truth to this? I know our partners’ connections are strong, but that is one crazy ask….
Which firms have the best maternity/paternity packages? Do any cover some of the cost of surrogacy? I have a medical condition that would make actually carrying a child dangerous, so wondering if some firms offer help in that area (I’ve heard of some covering IVF costs).
Dear MBB fishes, requesting your immediate guidance on data engineering practice. I currently have to pick one between FAANG vs MBB. Same base but 25K RSU difference. Please help me with your insights! Moving from industry in Midwest region.
Need some advice - been at the D for a year and have been on the same implementation project for over a year. Have a technical background and am thinking of starting to look for exits to industry but also am curious what strategy projects are and if I would be interested in the work. Is it worth networking onto a strategy project at the D or should I just continue to look for industry exists and then go b school and then try for MBB/T2 ?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Since we got so much time on our hands lol I am a new analyst at the D wanting to figure out if MBA is the right next step to go to MBB post MBA. How would you guys recommend I start reaching out ? ..
I’m in NJ. Most states, NJ included have passed laws forbidding a landlord from evicting tenants during this corona virus pandemic. If I don’t pay my rent can I still be charged late fees?
If firms go exclusively remote, I have zero reason to remain living near “home office”. Likelihood we’ll shift to that model, and can live wherever?
Courtyard marriott Atlantic city tells me breakfast isn't complimentary. Platinum here. Marriott website says courtyard offers daily credit OR breakfast. Anyone else experience this?
Anyone have an employee referral program in place or recos on how to avoid monetizing such a program? Specifically — different methods beyond monetary bonuses... exciting incentives to get referrals through the door?
Been an art director for 12 months but grown in my role significantly & my boss told me my next promo was “political”. I’m managing well over 1.5M a year, 9 brands. Functioning with little to no oversight on a day-to-day basis, w/ only strategy checkins with my CD. 100% client facing. I’m managing 1 direct report and from 2-8 copy and art freelancers at any time. I feel like all my stretch goals are ACD focused. Yet still need SAD before ACD. Does this sound like an art director? Pharma agency.
How do you all recommend getting a referral to MBB and preparing for interviews? I’m looking at putting a serious effort into this as a potential lateral pre-mba hire.
Returned from sick leave and found out from other people at the office I totally messed up on a project that I worked on prior to sick leave. Now that my reputation has been ruined and facing an upcoming negative performance review. No one at the office stood up for me despite of positive work done prior to COVID or wants to hear what I have to say. I m bothered by this gaslighting practice both professionally and personally. I felt I was designated as the scape goat. Continued.
Anyone at Deloitte have some insight on the Strategic Communications and Change Management positions for analyst and consultant? What to expect in the final interview? Base salary + bonus? WLB? Asking for a relative! Deloitte
If you're interviewing at a firm that markets itself to laterals as a biglaw refuge with low billable requirements and quality of life is it okay to say in an interview that those are one of the reasons you're considering the firm?
I feel im targeted due to my ethnicity .. When I raised my concern with HR I'm being threatened with PIP.. How do deal with it? I'm worried being fired.. Where as I been on my numbers for two years.....

I'm a brand new teacher & will begin teaching 3rd in the Fall. I need to compile a "wishlist" of sorts, of things I'd like in my classroom. Would like to know the top items you'd put on your list. 😁
How are most teachers plan on giving assessments to students who are remote learners? My school is everyday half-day for students (guardians) who chose to be in school. All other students are remote learners every day. That means I had classes with students who are physically there as student to are there through Google meets. I'm just trying to see what other teachers are doing to balance the two types of learners and how give fair assessments.....
Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity
Anyone here invest in index funds? I’m thinking about VTSAX but FXROX has no expense fees so it looks enticing. But I hear most people rave about VTSAX
VC guy in SF running one of their portfolio companies reached out. I straight up said I’m looking for a job. I’ve now got a meeting with him bolted on to my upcoming holiday to the US. How to nail it?
Just picked up Whiskey Bible's #1 rated whiskey for 2021 (and 2020 World Whisky of the year) - can't wait for the weekend to crack this baby open. Alberta Premium Rye Cask Strength.
Anyone know if the new Amex Plat 5x MR points for air includes our corporate cards? I've found the benefits all don't always carry over. http://about.americanexpress.com/news/pr/2016/new-travel-benefits-for-amex-platinum.aspx
