Depends, what is the pension amount that will be vesting?

About 30k
Probably just wait, unless there is a really compelling opportunity that won’t be available again
I would stay, why not? It’s free money and when it comes time to retire that is just a little extra that you will have.
Yes, wait it out. You can still apply/ interview, just don't rush the process. Most places will be flexible if the date is less than 8 months away and they like you. Just tell them, you're interested but want to make sure you leave everything in a good place. If you're in leadership, that's an easy sell.
And if you're not going to a competitor, then you could potentially start the new job on a PT basis to "scale up"/ transition in.
30k isn't THAT much. If you find the right exit offer, you can ask if they are willing to give you a 30k signing bonus due to falling away from vesting.
Unless you mean a 30k/yr pension starting age 60 for the rest of your life. Model out the npv of that.
