Should I stay on my parents’ health insurance or start my own to start saving in HSA? (Just started at Deloitte, new to this). Thanks

Stay on your parents as long as you can if you want to save money

like

Do the HSA, you’ll thank yourself later.

Unfortunately my warning comes from direct experience 😔 so hopefully others hear will not make the same mistake I did, lol

Glad to hear it doesn't apply to your case, KPMG1

If you don't anticipate any notable medical costs in the near future, do the HDHP and start forming your HSA

If you expect a good amount of medical costs, stick to your parents health insurance plan

Where can I start learning about retirement in America? I’m naive on the topic and originally from another country so I need reliable learning resources. I’m 31 and don’t have anything yet, except 6months in emergency fund and I started traditional 401k a few months ago, but can’t max it out currently as I make less than $70k right and single, so I’m currently putting 6% on a targeted retirement age portfolio.

Need advice. Am in the middle of parental leave right now and my spouse and I are on the brink of divorce. Have only this 1 kid. Spouse doesn’t work yet, but can with earning potential around $50k. I make around $450k. No way I’d keep this job if divorce happens. I’d eventually transition in house so I can take care of my kid when I have him, but that won’t be immediate. How will custody work in that case? I want joint, but how do I take care of him alone with this job in the meantime?

I graduated in June with a dual BSBA in healthcare management and human resources management/organizational management and two associates degrees in business and arts. I have twelve years of experience as a certified clinical medical assistant.

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!

Has anyone here taken a pay cut because of mental health? I work in a very dysfunctional environment with a manager who can be despotic and unnecessarily harsh - and I am tired of it. I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Hi all, I’m looking to re-enter the workforce. I had to take a career pause @ the beginning of the pandemic because I had a child. I have 5+ years of experience in life science (bench top, pathology in a hospital, startup, and most recently clinical research). I’d like to make a slight pivot into a health informatics, clinical data or data analytics position but I’m also open to non clinical research positions like regulatory/quality assurance etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA
