Should I stick with Big 4 audit( currently senior 2 and received good reviews ) or look for FDD sr jobs in tier 2 firms ( Like RSM )

FDD, audit is lame and for dweebs. See if one of the cohnreznick homies can hook you up

likefunny

FDD anywhere then jump to big4 if needed

I would look for wherever you can get into FDD. Leave for a better firm in a year if it makes sense for your career.

like

Audit if you love it.

FDD, tough to get into RSM FDD without prior experience at the moment

Pick audit if money is not your top concern

unless you want to stay in audit or do technical accounting, this is bad advice

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director l, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

Hi guys, I’m debating switching careers. I’m currently a mortgage loan officer but I’m very interested in SE. My degree is in finance. There’s a coding bootcamp near me called Boca Code that’s supposed to be top notch. I’m curious for feedback on 1. Are coding bootcamps actually a way into the industry like they’re marketed? And 2. What is a realistic starting salary for entry level SE? I’ve read and been told 90k, but that seems high.

Just got promoted to audit senior, but can’t imagine doing another busy season. I have some forensics internship experience from college and always wanted to pivot to forensics. It sounds like the firm is working mostly on COVID stuff these days, but I’m more interested in doing investigations work. If I transfer and have no choice but to work on insurance/claims, would it be better to stay in auditing? Is the insurance/claims work demanding/difficult intellectually wise?

I don’t like managing people, especially juniors who are still figuring out their career paths. But at my company, in order to be considered a leader, you have to manage people. Can I be a creative leader without managing?

For IP Litigation folks in life sciences/pharma - what are the likely exit options? The boutique patent lit firms don’t seem to have a lighter workload and it seems like most in house positions require tech transaction and patent persecution experience, which is not easy to get while in big law (since different groups). Interviewed for 5.5 hours today at a boutique IB today. Base comp is a slight bump. 14 mos in FDD @ PwC who will make senior this CRT - love the role but want to see more of the transaction besides TBs and TB detail. Comp isn’t a huge bump but the IB seems to have a good culture. 20 people. I really am struggling. I worried about FDD golden handcuffs with limited exit ops. Please advise!!! How should I navigate this and assess it from an unbiased perspective. Thx!
