No. Just leave it - you only lose if you take money out now. Time in the market beats timing the market.
Yes - that’s definitely bad. Don’t do that
I say leave it too. Find the $6k somewhere else if you really want to fund your Roth. You also have until July 15 to come up with the money.
Thanks guys
I would leave it and see if I find my Roth IRA from my savings

Volatility. If you sell at 100 for example by the time you buy it could have gone up to 120. But then it could also have gone down to 80. Volatility can work against you or with you. If I was in your shoes and can't come up with the 6k I would do what you're thinking of doing. I can't stress enough how much better a Roth ira is than a taxable brokerage.

I can't agree with D1 and D2. It is perfectly smart to realize losses for tax purposes and most(all?) of us here should be trying to max out our IRAs annually. If proceeds are then subsequently invested through your IRA you are essentially in the same position you were in before except you are saving on your 2020 taxes and those funds will now grow tax free in your Roth IRA.
The only major caveat is wash sales as you don't want your loss to be disallowed. Buy something different than you sold even if it is very similar. You can always move it back to your original investment after 30 days.
Yeah I was thinking to buy SPY as compared to VOO or VTI which I would be selling
I would say it depends if you are looking to tax harvest (assuming this is in a normal trading account) and the losses are that significant. Otherwise, I agree with D1, just let it ride.
CAPS - THE ONLY WAY TO GET RICH IS SEARCH A GOOD BUSINESS/ ETF, BUY IT AT A COMFY PRICE AND OPEN THE ACCOUNT WHEN YOU RETIRE...
Don’t you think we should reshuffle the portfolio every few years as we get closer to retirement ?

Are you buy now and hold forevers (D1 D2 EY1) honestly suggesting OP should not be buying ETFs within their Roth IRA or are you missing the second part of their plan to use the proceeds to fund 2019 IRA?
How much is the loss?
It’s around 10%
It’s around 10% right now
If I would have done it yesterday it was only 6%
