Sounds like a great time to have this as more of an FYI conversation with your CC. You can tell them what you need to accommodate your disability, noting that it normally isn’t a problem. You can then have them talk to your current supervisor to confirm that there are no issues with your performance. I do think it’s a good idea for your CC to be in the know in case it becomes an issue in the future, that way they can advocate for you quickly, rather than an awkward “why didn’t you tell me this before?” kind of conversation. (Not saying you are obligated to tell, just that it makes it easier from them to defend you if they already know about it.)

It would be unethical for them not to promote you due to this. I would tell your CC and also present solutions for what you can do at the client site. Hell, I spend more than 20 min a day getting coffee or using the restroom.

Start with HR or your firm’s disability network. At least for us, you’d have the option to the join the listserve anonymously, without outting yourself (same as for LGBT)

Working remote so far with great performance, so hasn't been an issue to nap. I have a doctors note but haven't had to give it yet. However, I won't be remote forever. I like and trust my cc, but I wonder if there's any value in letting him know. I feel like it'll be harder to convince him of a promotion.

Black Tax is something else. My in-laws that are back in Africa have a tendency of exaggerating so that my husband and I send more money. They had my husband and I worried all weekend thinking my MIL was so sick. Turns out she wanted money for a party to throw a friend and realized this was the only way we would send more money immediately.

I'm wanting to advance to a lead/supervisor position but I keep being turned down because I don't have enough supervisory experience. I have 5+ years in medical coding, 3 in medical records and 10 in accounting. I've mostly worked in smaller facilities where I've taken on numerous roles under one title. My fiancée almost lost her life to a medical emergency. The doctor needed me to stay home 2 weeks to supervise her post-operative care once the hospital discharged her. We had nobody near that could help so I got permission to attend class remotely for 2 weeks from the dean and all professors. One professor removed me from a graded argument the week after I’d return. When I asked about this error, he had said “I had planned on your failure to appear” and that he preplanned giving me a 0 grade.

Considering offer as assistant controller at a small HF shop. Currently audit A2, will be promoted to S1 this Summer, and in HCOL market. No CPA. Haven't gotten the details yet, but recruiter sent me for 95-100 base, expecting ~20% annual bonus, full medical dental, free lunch and gym FWIW. Is this low? Is it worth sticking around 1 more year as senior for potentially better? The position has a lot of growth potential, as the shop is quickly expanding. What other factors do I consider?

Travelled quite a bit for last two years. Always wore mask. Loved that I hadn’t been sick but once in mid-2020! Flew a week ago Thursday - first day masks off in airport. 5 days later started feeling tired and achey. 10 days in and sick as a dog. Wish I didn’t feel like I have a bad cold.

Hi Ladies! I’m a sales rep for a private duty non-medical Homecare agency and when making cold visits at hospitals or clinics to introduce myself I’m often not allowed in. It seems that due to covid they aren’t allowing un-scheduled visits and since I’m new to the area I don’t really know anyone. Anyone experiencing similar challenges? I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year. My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

Hi everyone! I just got an offer as a TVC at Google (dream company!) & am deciding whether or not to take it. The team is great, amazing synergy with me just from the interviews. I’m concerned about job stability and prospects for FTE conversion. Has anyone ever successfully converted? I also have a full time offer from a smaller tech company and am weighing my options. The smaller company has better pay, fully remote, great manager, but I didn’t vibe with the team. Any advice?
