Should I write thank you notes to each of my interviewers after virtual rounds, or is that considered stiff and unnecessary in this environment?

Yes, you should write the notes. No, it is not too much. That is still expected business etiquette. And for the lazy people who don’t do this- it gives you a leg up.

I received an email from a very senior player at a firm weeks after I was rejected due to a well written thank you note. We are still in touch and he is a mentor. I have only not written a thank you note for the firm I’m at now, strictly because the recruiter told me specifically not to.

Am I wrong in thinking I am the logically person to get a huge promotion? Background: I work on a Buying team as Buyers Assistant and I am currently the only person in my Category. I know the business, the product, the operating system and the vendors. However, I know nothing about buying but I quickly learn analytics and procedures. Wouldn’t it be easier to train me on buying vs training a buyer how our systems functions, our products, and how it moves in our company?

Hello! I was curious if there were any women here who are Controllers at their current company? What is your experience like? I’ve dabbled into public accounting for two years now in the Business Outsource department and was curious about moving back to private to work my way up to be a Senior Accountant or Controller. My previous private company had a lot of prejudice about women moving up to upper management so I felt discouraged. I’m a little lost on where to go with my Accounting Career.

Curious to hear everyone’s perspectives on if they regret turning down an M7 MBA, to continue on in their careers. It’s pretty stylish now to forego them (especially in tech and investing), but I’ve seen stories of career stagnation without them.

2)esg direct
3)new asset classes and ways to invest
4)digitisation of back office and reporting
