Are you cute? Jk
Photo of you with dog. I have a photo of myself. Not a headshot. Just one that relatively captures my vibe.
I do, but only because I am extremely good looking.
I’m only hired because of my pic tbh
I don’t think it’s required, but it definitely helps in establishing a sense of familiarity and connection with whoever looks at it. In an industry that is all about those two things, it can’t hurt.
If you’re worried about someone turned off by something as superficial as your appearance, it probably means you’re better off not working with/for them.
Yeah that’s a much better way of putting it
Not if you’re older
Yea why not... gives people a glimpse of who you are
Mine does
I would say so, in the about me section. Helps establish more of an identity when saying a bit about yourself.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think so. It’s about the work.
Even for creatives?
Yes. Now a days because it’s so easy it’s become an expectation and I wonder why not when looking at work. It also gives me an idea on how you want to be perceived within a professional environment. IMO, it’s more hip than LinkedIn but still professional.
On the flip side, it should be all about your work and experience and theres potential to discriminate against someone because of race, sex and age. I’d still put a nice portrait of yourself that portrays you in the best way. Approachable, friendly, professional and interesting. Like a resume or cover letter, tailor it towards your desired role or place you’d like to work.
I have a pic of me but it's a personality play.
