You should speak, the fact is embrace ourself and speak up no need to think much about it, what others think is not ur business
Even I've found this question lingering in my head many times.
While I agree with others that we should accept our Disability with Pride. In my early years of career; I often found my team members showing sympathy to me (rather than Empthy), which none of us one wants.
I usually disclose my disability to my immediate superior, but conceal it with my team members until I gain their respect (because of my technical skills or work).
Once I have their respect, I start disclosing this to them. That ensures that people respect me more than showing me Sympathy.
PS: I work with with diverse teams, so the fact that I am on wheelchair can easily be concealed (without much effort).
