Outside of informing them that you’re leaving, why would you let your existing employer know of your other higher offers if the goal was not to receive a counter offer? And why would you then be apprehensive of taking a counter offer out of fear of retribution down the road for looking around? I don’t know many firms that actively fight to keep likely layoff candidates.

At this point I’m not sure what you’re seeking.

IM Ed you

Unless you want to stay, which you probably don't unless you were shooting for a counter offer this whole time, I wouldn't stay. If you're only leaving for money, then I would stay. If you're leaving for any other reason, then that won't change just because you're making more.

Is that right? True for all the big 4? Seems super low. I guess I never thought about it before but how exactly do you folks get paid?

Hi, I’m the US office & marketing coordinator for a fintech recruitment company w/ HQ in the UK (Started 6/21, $52k, based in Chicago). Apart from the Talent Acquisition/HR Head I’m the only staff in the US - all others are recruitment consultants w/ base salary + commission. Not only do I already assist w/ HR/onboarding, I work in almost every other operations aspect (IT, finance, etc) & manage US marketing under the global head. I think I deserve $60-65k. See resume, is this reasonable? Thx!
