Enough of them to show that you’re a part of the team and socializing, but don’t need to go to so many where it seems like you have no life outside of work

If you like them

Yes definitely. Great way to get exposure and build relationships. Those are key to navigating any company effectively.

It’s good to network and get to know people, just be cautious when drinks start flowing

No

I generally say "yes" for two reasons. First, it is a "perk," if you don't participate then you are are effectively losing the benefit. Second, it is a good way to get to know your coworkers better and make connections.

Since most of my experience has been recruiting, all I seem to get calls for are recruiting positions. I have applied to project manager position and tried to fix my resume to the job. I am a Product Owner with 4+ YOE. I have been in my current role for 4 months and have continuously found that this role and company are not the right fit for me. Looking back on everything they said during the interview process it turns out that the culture, product and role are not aligning with anything we discussed. They have added on responsibilities and I have continuously expressed to my direct manager how I feel.

I have an offer from Capgemini and I have my H1-B transfer approved. After I resigned and told my manager about it, asked me if I wanted to stay back. Initially I said no, but agreed to stay if they match. today told me they ready to match the hike with what I'm getting there over 30%. I'm just in a mix. Capgemini has spent money on me filling transfer petition and premium and I'll be feeling guilty to ditch them. At the same time my manager in current company has done everything. Wat shud I do @

Considering a jump from FTE back to consulting. I have roughly 8 IT YOE, CSPO, CSM, and my MBA. I'm considering a Sr Product Owner role with the mind set of moving to Product Management within the next 1-2 years. With that background and currently being in a candidate's market, roughly what should I target as my salary?

Right now, I'm at 100k with 5% bonus as a BA.

Working at my first startup and received equity with my offer. I’ve also received equity increases during my employment. All I have to show for it is my initial offer letter and a couple of emails granting equity increases with vesting schedule and quantity. Is this typical? If not, what specific paperwork should I be asking for?

I owned a business for 6 yrs and had a B2C sales role for 3 yrs after (not SaaS). I’ve now been a B2B2C Key Account Manager at a Fitness Tech scale up for 6 mos and would like to be making more $ so am considering applying to other B2B SaaS companies. I currently own the entire (long) sales cycle from prospecting to account management. I’d like to stay in a similar role in another company. Will I have a difficult time landing an SDR/BDR, AE or CSM role elsewhere? I’m a 48 yo female.

Hi, I received an offer from a tech company last week. I went ahead and accepted because I didn’t have any competing offers. However, another company now offered me significantly more. I didn’t have this offer when I accepted the previous one. I still like the tech company. Is it ok to ask them to match the new offer after accepting? I didn’t know that I would even receive another offer as the other company had not responded back at all. The difference is $70k b/w the two offers. Thanks

My friend just let me know that her job, Radish Fiction, is doing layoffs. They gave the employees the decision to either voluntarily quit with severance or stay with the company. But if they stay, there’s still a chance they may be affected by a round of mandatory layoffs.

I’m shocked because the company seemed pretty cool to work at and seemed to be doing fine. I even wanted her to give me a heads up if a role opens. Now, her career is hanging in the balance.

Has anyone tried out AlgoExpert as prep for coding interviews? I’m currently looking to move closer to a development role and need to pick back up on so largely ~dormant~ coding skills. A friend recommended AlgoExpert, has anyone payed for the yearly subscription in the past? Is it worth it or is it too niche? Also very curious if anyone has utilized their certificate + recruiting profile feature (seems like they almost connect you with recruiters for you). Thanks in advance!

Since I graduated from CSUN, I’ve been trying to find a job. It was hard finding a entry job software engineering job that requires few years of experience. As a deaf person, many obstacles in my path that I fought so hard to get past them. For instance, they tried to call my videophone, which has an American Sign Language interpreter to pass messages through a webcam and phone call, and thought it was not me. I maybe lose a lot of chances. I wish everything was more easier.

When I originally was looking to get into a big Tech company, I decided to get my foot in the door my best option would be to become an admin. Although I am learning A LOT, I fear that those around me may only see me as capable of only administrative tasks. I am early in my career, and want others to see that I can be an asset in other roles. Any advice on how to get others to bet on me/advocate for my career development with skills that I have but do not have to opportunity to use everyday?
