Should you put all your savings (with the exception of emergency fund) into a down payment as a first time homebuyer? Also, if you wanted to buy a home within ~3 years, would you save everything in cash or allocate a % of equities?

Two schools of thought: put as much money as possible to get it paid off faster OR put as little money as possible with the best interest rate due to other investments paying better

Can anyone speak to other investments paying off? I’m sitting on 150k for a down payment and can’t make up my mind on which route to go.

I would just do 20% because you still gotta buy furniture. You also want some cash on hand for regular expenses

Hi guys,

I had my technical round with TCS yesterday. It went on for 45 mins and I had answered close to 17 of the 20 questions that were asked to me. The interviewer also gave a positive kind of response stating that you will have a managerial round after this and then HR. But nothing has happened after that. I tried emailing the HR who had arranged for my interview but I did not receive a response. Any idea about the TCS hiring process or how else can I reach them to kno the results ?

24, a decent amount of savings in the bank. I’m sort of interested in buying a property in the next few years.
Is this a good or bad idea? I live in Ny area, so obviously the city would probably be too expensive to buy any property. Would probably have to buy further out in westchester, Long Island, maybe connecticut or NJ. If I buy, should I be living there? Or should I rent it out until I’m ready to live there (assuming it’s a bit further from the city). Very early stages of just thinking
