Consulting sucks you're gonna live out of a hotel.
From someone that's gone from banking to consulting and back to banking, consulting for me was a great surface level of knowledge on a little bit of everything, but you're never going to be an expert on really anything
Boutiques can provide better deal responsibility and greater earning potential. Don't hate on other people's banks JP.
Some offense, but who would take career advice from someone at Jefferies?
I think it's also to differentiate MBB consulting vs Big4 consulting - it's a very different experience
What are you doing now at JPM?
Grass is always greener... I came from industry got an MBA then went to banking. Best way to pick up industry knowledge is to work directly in that industry.
Agree with DB1- I had a similar path and did both boutique and big4. It really depends on where you land and what type of projects you want to work on.
Why are you guys assuming he's in banking? He could be in ops, risk, or tech for that matter. OP needs to clarify.
JPM 1- good point. But if he/she is already in fin ops, risk mgmt or tech (it?) he probably has deep "industry" experience.
