Hi everyone, I am 4.9 years experienced , I joined Fractal 3 months ago as a data engineer, but still haven't got any project. Process is so slow that I have received only 4 to 5 project calls. I switched in hopes that will learn the new tech and tools. But now i am starting to forget even the one i knew. Should i go for change or wait a little more time as fractal is reputed in AI/ML? I have interview lined up with Impetus as for now. Would it be better choice?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Close to a nervous breakdown, thanks for asking š
@texas middle school 1. I work at a title 1 as well and only had 6 out of 20 participate last year. I'm assuming that's why our governor wants brick and mortor. But right now it's just not feasible with how our numbers are so high.
I wish we could stay home honestly. I have 2 high risk people in my house. My district says that they care so we will see what they have planned for school opening next week. I am creating a contingency plan if me or my family gets sick. I got short term disability and life insurance policy. I am also storing up gold monthly. So, whatever goes down, I'm ready. Physically. Just trying to get my mind in the game. Other than that I'm great!
T3 you have a beautiful heart!
Georgia is also in the top 5! I am seeing dates pushed back for some counties to begin school but not for all! I live with someone also very immune compromised so I, too, am very concerned, as is he!!!!
As of now, we start full in person school August 17th. Small rooms with 25+ students. Masks will be required to enter the school and in the halls but not in the classroom. What the heck?! Students will be less than a foot apart, thatās all there will be room for. Itās not looking good and I am very anxious about it. But I am a single parent and I have to keep my job.
We have an association but no union.

Iām good. The politics worry me more than COVID.
Hoping to work from home since Iām considered high risk for multiple reasons. Teachers are becoming more vocal though and I have hopes. The number of new cases in Dallas county have been over 1,000/day for over a week now. I donāt see any safe way of opening in person at all. Bought 6 masks and 2 shields instead of the shared materials I usually buy. Nobody is using anything communal in my class this year.
Still up in the air, I donāt which worse not knowing, or knowing that we may go into financially untenable, unsafe situation. The not knowing make the isolation worse. Looking for that light at the end of the tunnel and hoping it's not an oncoming train
It's awful here. Case numbers keep rising. We are starting online on the 5th and then transition to in person models on the 17th.
Thanks for checking! ā¤ļø How's your world?
Found out yesterday we are going to distance learning for the first month of school, then it will be re-evaluated by the county. So grateful, because distance learning for my special ed class is a lot less of a stressor and worry than going to campus and trying to keep everyone safe and clean, while trying to teach.
Iām worried about opening with distance learning in the younger grades, but at the same time worried about opening up the classroom without proper safety/protection available. Trying to focus on other things to keep the anxiety of it all at bay.
Yeah... now that u bring it up, I'm b worried about anxiety attacks and if I teach virtual, I dont have my paras to fall back on
Thank you for asking! I am scared sick , need to get higher dose anxiety meds... CTA sent papers for me to fill out a Will and some districts got asked to sign waivers that school was not liable if they get Covid ! I am a walking nightmare and Iām making myself I think ...

Are you required to sign the waiver to keep your position?
If masks are not worn in a classroom then we would have to stay 6 feet from our students.
We are being told we can have up to 22 kids in class. How can we keep everyone 6 feet apart? But then distancing isnāt a concern in the classroom either
Exactly!!! The bubble will blow soon!!!
My district just announced that we will have remote learning at least through Labor Day! Start time is still the same Aug 24th
Our district is supposed to roll out a plan on the 20th. So itās still a waiting game to see what we need to plan for.
I am just waited to hear what we are doing. My kids are very high disco so going back to in person school would not be good. I will do what I have to do though because this is my job.

Californiaās Tulare County is on the Governorās radar. We will be online Distant Learning.
We start school in person with an option for parents to choose online. I think itās a bad idea.
