Shouting a rhetorical question into the void… why do some law firm web sites not list the members and chairs of practice areas? Do they hate new clients? Like playing hard to get?

Because there’s so much turnover. Or because there aren’t chairs.

I find it easier to rely on classmates I trust (for services or recs) as opposed to relying on an internet search and cold call.

But, I echo your frustration. Firms are by nature, hierarchal, so maybe tell us the hierarchy?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get into real estate investing. Some of the books I've read have talked about buying a multi unit property and utilizing investors to get the necessary capital. Thank you in advance.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

I’m waiting for an offer. At the offset of interviewing they told me the range was 180-195 and I said that it was lower than I am looking for generally which I wanted to be up front about, but there was a possibility I could be a bit flexible depending on other factors so I was interested in continuing. Assuming they make me an offer in that range, how much more is reasonable to try to ask for?

How often are you tasked with dealing with administrative and commercials in your in house role? Lately I have been receiving loads of commercials and constantly asked for summaries etc; however, this seems like something a contract manager or specialist should be doing. Also, I have been asked to update reports dealing with commercial values now, which again seems out of the scope of my role…

I work in privacy (3rd year AMLaw) and get tons of screener interviews for in house positions, but never make it past the screener call. I have the experience the position is looking for (truthfully answer the do you have experience questions with always yes), do my research on the company before the call, and think I come across as a reasonably normal person. Is there something I am doing wrong or missing? Is it my relative inexperience being a third year?

Eventually I plan on moving internationally. When it comes to searching for a new position, does company size/reputation matter more than the experience you have at the company?
