I love this and wish ZS would do the same. For all those crying "much freedom, we don't know the science, not fda approved, etc" or whatever other ignorant argument, you can still choose to not get vaccinated. If you work for a company that mandates it, you just have to find another employer.
Thats how freedom works. Youre free to stay unvaccinated, companies are free to set terms like this to be employed there. You can't have your antivax cake and eat it too. Youre free to make choices, but those come with consequences.
All of you guys in favor of this are not thinking big picture. Regardless of whether you’re pro or anti vaccine. The concept of forcing someone to take something foreign into their blood stream when they don’t want to is completely and absolutely insane. If you don’t have control of your body wth do you have control over…. And sure one can make the “you’re not being forced to work for that company” argument, but you can make that argument for sexism, racism, etc… yeah you don’t have to work for them, but it doesn’t mean it’s right.
Capco. You are also bad at assessing risk.
You speak as though prevalence is a variable that is independent of the virus.
The reason we haven't had an ebola epidemic in the united states is because ebola is not very infectious. Your risk of dying from a disease can be low because you are unlikely to get it or because you are unlikely to die if you get it.
Ebola is just objectively less dangerous than COVID. That is a fact. The last epidemic of ebola killed 11k. This epidemic of COVID has killed more than 11k CHILDREN world wide (the lowest risk group).
Yes the CFR of COVID is much lower than Ebola but the infectiousness is so much higher that it is still more deadly, even for low risk folks.
People who start their risk assessment conditional on getting infected are dumb and bad at risk assessments. If you would get an experimental ebola vaccine, you should definitely get the COVID vaccine.
Truly we have two pandemics, COVID and stupidity, laying this country low.
Gonna be the one that says I don’t support forcing people to put something in their body which we don’t know the long term health implications to.
We were in the process of getting the data, now we have it, the vaccine will be approved.
Then we will see new excuses arise. (I hope we don’t)
How can we mandate something that isn't FDA approved yet? Is that even legal? I'm not an experiment...
EY1 again - the answers to your questions (whether yes or no) get me nowhere closer to getting an answer to my original question. You somehow twisted my legal question into whether I lobby? I have given up on a legitimate response because I don't understand how some trains of thought work.
Who TF is Alvarez & Marshall? Sounds like a discount shoe store.
Tell me you work for KPMG without telling me you work for KPMG.
This is just fantastic. Hope everyone else follows suit.
For all conservatives crying foul: this is what true small government looks like. Corporations will choose instead and there isn’t a damn thing we can do about it.
You think these sorts of mandates are coming without a friendly nudge from big daddy Fed??

I will take unpaid leave

Associate 1 had me dying LOL.
#EY could you please follow suit? Maybe outdo them and give people 15 days given there are no vaccination wait times in the US.
EY3 either you’re kidding or living under a rock if you think this is my agenda.

BAH2: "You guys wanna see the fastest self-own in history?"
Its strange - people get riled up about a group of people not wanting to stick something unknown in their body. Where I bet the same group of people, have a subset that support the idea of an abortion where its someone’s right to do what they want with their own body. I see a conflict here and Ill be laughing at them once roe vs wade gets overturned.
EY 2 Shh your bickering might cause them to stir
LEK is also doing the same for US offices
Places you can go ((to work)) where the experimental vaccines are not mandated:
The White House
The CDC
The FDA
The WHO
Pfizer
Moderna
Johnson and Johnson
The federal client I work for requires that you show your covid vaccine card everyday upon entry or you have to sit there every morning and get an online covid test
Pro
Fully vaccinated people still transmit AND get infected with covid. So why are we coercing people to get vaccinated?
EY2, can you link where the CDC recommended that? Cheers.
Fitting that the leaders in getting rid of employees and saving money during a restructuring are the first ones to figure out how to get rid of your stupidest employees for free
Brilliant
It's completely unacceptable. No employer has the right to tell their staff what to do in their personal lives. This is an entirely personal matter and decision.
People keep citing the 99% survival rate while ignoring that a 1% death rate is still millions and millions of people dying worldwide. And thats assuming it doesn't eventually mutate into a more deadly strain, which the longer its around with people not taking measures now like getting vaccinated, the greater chance there is.
Not to mention that setting the bar at just surviving is a really weird bar to set, like severe flu symptoms, losing taste and smell for months, long term cardiac side effects, etc. aren't also really terrible outcomes. But hey, at least it's not death.
If you want totalitarianism, then move to North Korea.
See y'all in the gulag in a couple of months from now
Hail A&M? Who would have thought!
People don’t understand what choices are because they never had to make one. Choices come with consequences. But that doesn’t mean anyone is forcing you. You are free to work somewhere else. A&M is already 92% vaccinated. I think they were smart enough to consult a lawyer before enforcing a mandate.

C1 - Israel’s breakthrough rates are going through the roof. The Vaccination rate is over 80%.
