Average annual salary increase at a 50-100 attorney regional firm? Firm skipped raises last year due to COVID. Wondering what to expect and/or negotiate this year.
How did you mommas know when you were ready to try for baby no. 2? My daughter is 17 months and with covid I think I want to delay trying for baby no. 2 for a little bit but not a long time. The original plan was trying when she turned 18 months so next month but I’m thinking of waiting until April to see how this pans out a little more. I would like 2.5-3 year age gap but I dk if that’s too long of a gap.
What's your taking on bringing back the cleaning service? We had one pre covid, spouse and I are exhausted and unable to keep up with the weekly demands of cleaning with kids!
Thoughts on bringing external help during the covid era?
Befor Covid, were any of you working moms who had to travel? I’m in audit and I’m so nervous about having kids and having to spend the night away from them when they are little.
Trump contracted COVID-19 do you think the market will over react? Should we have cash ready in our brokerage accounts?
Watching the Together at Home concert - Beyonce & Alicia Keys call out how the black community is disproportionately affected by COVID. Why aren't our Asian celebs able to call out anti-Asian racism?
Help! Flying to Frankfurt with connection in Amsterdam next week. Covid testing rules are not clear when checking the airline website - does anyone know what tests we need to take to entry? Do we need to clear both Netherlands (Schengen entry) and Germany (final destination) requirements or just the final destination ones? We are vaccinated.
Just read the sad news of the death of 1st AD John Nolan. (See wheresspot for thread) While I hope be didn't contract Covid on either of the 2 sets mentioned prior to his illness and death, if it comes back that he did, we need to have a long hard chat about what went wrong. Condolences to his family. Truly horrible news.
We recently moved to a neighborhood (also new to USA). With covid we were home bound and my toddler takes lots of walks. Friendly neighbors give him stuff (books, toys etc.) when he is with our sitter. Are return gifts a norm ? I am from India and we usually give homemade food/desserts as thank you. Any other things we could share that shows appreciation ? On a side note - none of them socially distance and we had to politely decline a couple of movie night, bbq parties.
Freelancers have you applied for and gotten this? And of so, are you also getting Covid & “regular” unemployment? Just wondering if all of the above is allowed together.
Help! Returning to work after taking the full Mat Leave (16 weeks plus a few of vaca right after). So nervous to start traveling again away weekly away from my kids. The firm now wants us in the office more than pre-COVID as well. What can I reasonably ask for to make this easier on me without tanking my career? Seems like I’m already starting this FY “behind” since I lost client time while I was out. Also none of my work clothes fit!! (And the few that do are absolutely not pump friendly).
What empty gesture did your employer give you for your work during Covid? For us, it was chocolate chip cookies in the cafeteria lol.
I spoke to a Senior Manager earlier today and she told me they are looking to hire experienced and qualified candidates who have the below requirements:
1) Bachelor’s degree
2) CPA certification
3) 3-7 years of Accounting or Audit experience
100% remote. Then, post COVID traveling will vary.
Please, if you meet the above requirements or know someone who does and is interested in joining Deloitte send me a private message. I will have you send your resume and I will forward to Senior Manager.
What does your NEW operations look like due to COVID-19? How many early childhood Ed providers remain in operation and who is closing their doors?
Is it true, during COVID there was 12.5% pay cut for Nagarro employees earning more than 50lpa and later when things normalised, the deducted money was returned back to them ?Nagarro
Wife is 35 weeks pregnant and recently tested positive for Covid. Symptoms are mild to moderate. Doctor’s say no impact to baby if symptoms continue to remain under control. We are vaxed and boosted so not as worried about our recovery. More worried about the baby at this point. Anyone with similar experiences to share? TIA
With the weather getting better and things opening up, I feel the pressure to do things. I was social before covid and had a set of friends, but most of my friends moved out of town (not coming back) and I feel like I’ve lost my socializing skills.
I feel like I’m not cool enough for the city and I get sad when I don’t have plans for the weekend. Feeling lonely/ a bit depressed/ sad about it. Anyone feeling the same? I am putting efforts to socialize, but it just doesn’t feel the same.

Nurses, nursing students, CNA’s!
I’m launching a podcast, and am looking for guests! The podcast is very relaxed, unscripted, conversational show. We’d talk about all things nursing. The good, bad, and ugly, and solutions!
This is a space to share your perspectives, experiences, knowledge, and insights! I want this to be a space to advocate for change, support other nurses, and increase unity in the profession.
I’m looking for ALL KINDS of nurses! If interested please comment or message me!
I recently joined an IT services firm as a Strategy associate (4 month in). I have 1.5 years of exp. at a bank in digital marketing. What steps can I take both in and out of my role to position myself as a candidate at one of the MBB firms. Additional info: Toronto based, 2 years ish professional exp, graduated w/ Masters from a target school.

I am a sales rep and have worked extremely hard to build a large book of business. Every year upper management seems to find a way to cut commissions and make my hard work, worth less. Is this common? It’s pretty draining to work harder and get paid less year over year even though you’re typically getting more business. I don’t feel valued. Do more for less? Any other great sales companies/ industries that people are happy with and compensated accordingly? Preferably uncapped commissions

I had a tentative hearing on a matter. The matter was settled and we asked the court to waive a hearing and just sign the order based on the papers. The court neither let us know they were waiving it nor gave us the time / zoom for the hearing.
Should I assume it's not happening? The hearing was supposed to be on Friday. I need to know if I have to prepare.
I hate pulling all nighters because I’m always angry, my briefings come out aggressive and I’m always one step short of saying OC is an a$$h0l3 and should be sanctioned. Then I have to sleep on it and tone it down a lot the next day.
Today I took precisely 1 hour and 40 minutes to answer an email and a partner asked me on Teams “are you on vacation?”
10 billable hours this week so far… is this normal for a first year associate during this time of the year? (Transactional)
Is a 77% collection realization rate bad? Or is it normal for a junior to have this low of a rate?
Which do you feel is easier: plaintiffs or defense work? Or, are they just two sides of the same coin?
I need to spend a good 3-4 hours doing some organizational shit today. I have a bunch of new cases and cases with new deadlines, and it’s going to take a bit to figure out how I’m going to manage everything. It’ll make my life easier and less scrambled in the long run... but there’s so much billable work I should be doing.
How do you convince yourself to do all the nonbillable stuff that’s necessary for case management when you’re already pressed for time?
Anyone work in Wills and Estates? I have life insurance and need to list 2 beneficiaries in trust b/c they are not considered as valid beneficiaries. Do I need to draft a Will to specify instructions for this trust account? I don't have any other assets that I would list on a will.
I see a lot of comments about being “pushed out”. What are the signs that this is happening?
I get the rule of “bill everything”. But I worry that I don’t capture enough time. I use a timer program that is helpful and I know I’m working but can’t figure out what to input in the billing to reflect. What are some things you bill for that maybe some people tend forget to include? (Billable and nonbillable)
Does anyone else think California court rules and the CCP need a major overhaul? Tell me what bothers you about them (and what you’d change). For me, it’s 2020 so all key jurisdictions should be required to accept electronic submissions.
This might be a dumb question so pls excuse my ignorance but do non-equity partners get bonuses? Is that a thing?
Started my job at a small firm two months ago and I feel like the partners are giving me better cases than they are to another associate who’s been at the firm for 5 years… I’m wondering when is a good time to ask for a performance review/pay discussion. I went from being at a nonprofit for 4 years ($58,750/yr) to an entry level associate ($75,000/yr) but I do feel like I can ask and deserve more. Thoughts?
Any insight into GrayRobinson? As a whole and their litigation or healthcare areas specifically.

Received an Answer from an HOA today. The majority of the answer says the conversations speak for themselves, the emails speak for themselves, etc. Contemplating a CR 11 letter as they are not really responding to the facts alleged in the complaint, and the majority of the other paragraphs assert that the HOA is without sufficient information, even when the paragraph is directed at the HOA. Thoughts?
